EDIT: The switch is an ultimate shut off for my head lights, and only my head lights -whether they are on low or high beam.

(switch off/without using the switch) The only time I can use my fog lights is when my high beams are on.


(switch on/when I use the switch) I can have my fog lights/parking lights on w/out head lights bc the switch turns off my head lights.


I've been curious about is this freaking switch! It is a black switch with an orange dot on the end, located on the driver's side (right below the stereo, to the left of the ash tray, underneath the dash) Any clues?

I got a 06 RA and I don't recall having this switch... do you have an Automatic or Manual ?

edit : stupid question, I guess it's Manual judging from your shifter hehe sorry

 

Looks like the previous owner added that in. Maybe he had neons inside or the might be for his fog lights? Best thing to do is pull the center console apart and follow the wires.

 

its a switch that sends you into hyper mode where all your dreams and most wild fantasies will come true!

But most likely it is neon

 

could be a cut-off switch or an alarm!

however, it is not to the fog lights, i do not think it is the alarm (i have the factory alarm) it very well could be to some neons...? i do not have any neons in the cab nor underneath though... it drives me crazy! i have flipped it several times when the car is on and off/driving and not driving and i can not tell the difference (if any) im am not very experienced in the taking and removing and fixing of parts and such, so i might have that looked at by a professional later on after this thread gets old

As mentioned above, simply follow the wires, easy enough.

 

simple its for the sub, you press on the switch to pretty much turn off the sub so if your driving see a cop or so you dont feel like bumping then just press it...

 

following the wires does not seem that difficult, it is the taking off and removing of things that are way too difficult for me to do! i would end up breaking something and going crazy! this is me ----> haha

i dont think lancers come with a factory alarm... do u have an aftermarket? or is it just to lock and unlock the doors?

 

its not an aftermarket. it has the symbol. im sure its the oem key chain remote- unlock/lock dealy thing

 

yea mitsu "alarm" is just a fob with unlock and lock i spent money to get an alarm system put on her....

wheni put neons on my car i got a switch but mine is on the dash...... it may be for the sub..... are u not in contact with the person u bought it from or did u get it from a dealership?

 

no contact w/previous owner. i bought it used from dealership! when i get my sub put back in the trunk, im going to ask them to take a look at it!
