The funny and ironic thing is that i did toast it. From 2-3 i grind a little dispite full clutch and solid engagement. How much does that cost f=to replace one or all? Switching tomorrow to RP Syncroshift.

I use Royal Purple for my 04 RA 5 speed.... Great stuff! I noticed a difference when I changed it over the first time. Since then shifting has been buttery goodness. I use RP for engine oil as well. Yes it IS expensive ($8) per quart or so, but less wear and tear on engine parts is a big deal to me.

Why not just use the oem fluid? It's pretty specialized stuff. I have never seen a good reason to use anything else. Just asking, because it performs okay for me.

so what would be the definitive answer, it seems everyone says something different, is royal purple better than oem? probably, but i would make sure you put the right stuff in, its a costly repair if you dont.

At 30K I had the dealer change my tranny fluid, so I assume they used the Mitsubishi fluid. At 60K, I swapped in the Pennzoil stuff (cheap from Pep Boys), and thought the shifting improved a bit. Not mind-boggling great, but better than before.
