EVo Rims...fitment on an RA?

So there are alot of evo rims for sale in the market place, at great deals too. Currently i have the stock 16" RA wheels, but I think its time to upgrade. 5x114.3 +42? if i recall. All of the EVO wheels seem to be 5x114.3+30. I read up on offsets and spacing and fender rolling, but does anybody know for sure if these rims will fit an RA or do you have them on yours?

OK fellow RAs this seems to be the case.

The rims I have on my car now are stack RA(euroflange) Rims size is 5x114.3 +42 Tire size is 205/50ZR16...IMO not big enough for the wheel well; therefore I want to go taller. I see people with 17's and 18's on their RAs and all I want is 17's. EVO VIII wheels from a 2003 as Ive found are 5x114.3 and tire size of 235/45R17 + 35 offset

I hope my info is correct. If it is, can anyone confirm that both rims are 8j(8inches wide) So I could put a 205 tire rather than a 225 tire on the rim and then would it fit my RA without any mods? Would I need spacers? Im still new to this and I have not mastered searching for everything but Ive looked and I cannot find any info that is particularly useful to me. If my RA doesnt work out for me Im going to sell it and stick with my 1.8t VW...and noone wants that to happen.

as long as you don't turn it should work...but when you'll get to the corner of your street, you have to put the car in reverse and get back to your driveway.

the wheels are too wide for our fenders, they will rub awfully, removing the inner fender will get you going straight but won't get you to turn
Your option to run EVO wheels is to install EVO fenders

If you searched this topic it has been covered front to back and even side to side. The evo rims will have a hard time fitting with the evo stock tires. I think you will literally have to run rubber bands as tires and roll your fenders. You will then still have tire rub.

lol i think he was talking about fabricating it. Somthing tells me that yes there are great deals on evo rims and tires, but dont you think that rims and tires made for our RA's...i.e. slightly thinner and not as large would be cheaper then the evo rims lol....just a thought if you were thinking about getting a good deal.

I just got Enkei RS-6's for mine. They are a discontinued(older) model. They are almost identicle to the Evo 8 wheels. I got mine for about 88 each. Albiet they are stock size. I didn't want 17's or up. I enjoy handling. Point is they can still be found for dirt cheap. I also saved on tires. Got the older Eagle F1 GS-D3's for 49 each. Score.

no matter how much you fabricate the fenders the wheel is not going to be center with the fender.

theres a pic somewhere in these forums that shows a 02-03 lancer with a evo front end and it hecka doesnt look right!

search for it!

I have 18x8 +35 wheels on my Ralliart. (EVO Fitment). It' rubs in the rears with weight in the back. Stock fenders.
If you get something like +42 or +40 it would push the wheel inside the fender a little.
That would probably be rub-free.

Stock EVO X rims fit really nice. Also the evo 8 and 9 wheels fit really good too, but kinda small looking on the car...

haha yeah i would'nt think it would look right with a stock back end lol, i sawe a older lancer OZ with evo7 centers and fabricated front and back bumper, way to much time and money for the loook, i would rather take that $4,000 for the stock evo7 parts and fabricate them and then buy rims and tires to fit and spend it on my engine or somthing else to make it look unique not our stock big brother the evos.

I see an RA with Evo 8 wheels almost everyday, although the guy threw on some 215/45-17 tires in them. IMO that size tire doesnt look good on the wheel since theyre kinda stretched out, but the wheels do look good in the car .

I was refering to the EVO fenders but then you need headlamps and hood to work with it
I was being a bit sarcastic
