Better first Mod?

The cat isnt meant to increase power... its really only there to decrease the noise if you have headers and exhaust on the car. So 1-2hp is probably the amount of loss you'd get from that then a straight pipe. I think it's a really good thing to have to keep cops off your back about your car since you wont be screaming down the road or anything.

Maybe I'm a bit different, but I prefer handling over power. Don't forget that if you're increasing power on your engine, you should change your brake pads for better than oem. Maybe also your brake fluid and the brake lines as well. I much prefer having a car that response quick and very well in case of emergency.

My only mods so far are the RRM SRI and a TWM short shifter.
I will be doing the UPD and rear sway bar here shortly.
After that who knows. Like I said earlier no FI or header/cat back because I am trying to keep this thing of the cop's watch list. I want the cop to go after the slow civic with a fart can and leave me alone.
I agree about the handling idea that is why I am going with the sway bar. I will replace the brakes later when the ones I have need replacing.

I can understand that you dont want to get pulled over... but the stock exhaust isnt that bad so you should be okay just replacing a header/dp w/ a hf cat and keep the stock exhaust. If you're increasing the amount of air going in you should also balance it out for whats coming out. The only major bottleneck part of the cars exhaust system is the downpipe, once you open that up you should be all good.

yeah as much as you dont want an exhaust system your probably gonna have to get one, or atleast buy a muffler and have a muffler shop make you a custom catback...and if your worried about noise then keep your resinator on cause i dont have a res. and my exhaust is loud as hell...headers/ DP and custom exhaust would help your car breath, especially since you wanna do more motorwork
