DTC P0138: Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage <SENSOR 2>

couldnt find anything in the ra forums but seems like a lot of the evo guys get this. i have a high flow cat and the non foulers. ive had this set up for a year now and i never had a cel from it. do you think the sensor just went bad? i have 55,000 miles on my car. the cel just came on and i reset it twice. keeps coming on within 15 miles.

Could be a sensor wiring issue too, if it's not the sensor itself.

O2 sensors should last more than 55K miles, especially if you're relatively stock. I believe high voltage indicates a rich condition, so your sensor could just be very dirty, throwing the SES light.

Now that I think about it, where is the second O2 sensor located? I'm assuming it's the post-cat sensor.

i have header/dp and a high flow cat but ive had them for a year. the second o2 sensor is after the cat. why would it be ok for so long and now come on. after searching the evo threads that got this, they said they got this code during cold weather. it has been cold here but what can i do to prevent this from coming back on? this did come on after putting my k&n filter on my sri. why would that have anything to do with the o2 sensor?

Maybe this eliminator will work for you.

ROAD/RACE "Check Engine Light" Eliminator (For Headers/Downpipe)

Disclosure: I don't work for RRM.

ok 115 miles and the code came back on. its warm out to. so i dont think the cold weather has anything to do with it now. i guess ill get a new sensor and see how that goes.

Sounds like you've got a dead rear o2 sensor. There is a remote chance that it's a wiring fault but I have seen a few of these CELs and they were always corrected by replacing the rear O2 sensor.

ok i ordered an o2 sensor and it arrived today. i got it from www.oxygensensorsplus.com. it said for 05-06 lancer ralliart 2.4. the connectors arnt the same. it is four wire though. my question is what colors go to what. the new sensor is white, white, grey, and black. stock colors are (IIRC) red, red, blue, and yellow? what goes to what?
