Yea it's most likely the the little black box on the back side of the fan. I can't remember the name of it but get it replaced soon because one day the fans won't turn on at all and that's ok a long as your moving but when your sitting at a light your radiator WILL go boom..

lol don't scare the guy. your radiator will not go BOOM! that is unless you wait to do this for like over a year or so. i ran with the fans doing it for about 6 months with minimal issues. just keep a watch on your temp gauge and pray that it doesnt go in the upper 3/4 of it or you'll want to pull over and let your car cool.

if you're freaking out though and want to replace it immediately talk to RussellM (sp?). he's a vendor here on the forums for mitsubishiparts.net and just ask him for the fan controller under the hood for the car. he'll probably pm you for your VIN number but he'll definitely help you out. if he has any specials going on with holiday deals or something i guarantee you he'll be the best price as i just bought mine about 2 weeks ago with the new years deal he had and it was alot cheaper than what i've been quoted from other places.

It will mine did I was busy in the back seat noticed the ac was warm air thought it was just us and then boom looked like a nos purge kit on all sides of my hood including the evo 8 hood center ... But I did get an evo nine one to replace it...
