Question 04 ralliart front bumper

Hey-

I am looking at replacing my front bumper as I have had some damage to my stock one. I really like the RRM Evo 9 front bumper but I was told by them that I need to remove my crash bar in order to install it. I was looking at some accolade bumpers and I was wondering if anyone has ordered those and if the crash bar was removed in order to install. If you could offer suggestions/ideas that would be great. Thanks

I'd stick with RRM and remove your crash bar because accolade is having a lot of business problems right now and I don't think it's the best time to be ordering anything from them. Many people who have ordered something in the last few months have yet to get their products or are unable to contact them. If its safety issues that's preventing you from removing your crash bar then lemme tell you now that it will only protect you from a crash of 5mph or less. Remove it, buy what you desire.

@RAonLSD - Since you have the RRM turbo kit I'd assume that you had your crash bar removed already for the FMIC, so I don't think you will have any problems with RRM's evo 9 bumper.

It's weight reduction , I'll get my car weighted after my rebuild , I think I could loose some nice weight with fiberglass frint bumper and side skirts and removal of the crash bar.. Hmmm

I am just looking to make sure that I am not effecting the airbags if I do remove the crashbar. I know that most of it has to do with the g-force and the seatbelts, are there sensors in the crash bar or no?

crash bars are only really useful for like collisions under 10mph i'd say... any faster and the crash bar is already done for... and what are the chances that you're going to be ina collision under 10mph? god forbid you're in a crash at all but just saying

HAHAHA. Has anyone in here gotten/installed this bumper or know anyone that has that i can talk to? I just went around for some estimates on paint and install (white pearl three stage paint is expensive) and all of the places told me that they could not give me a proper estimate without knowing what modifications they would need to make to the car and bumper in order to install. I know someone above said they had just ordered or were going to. I just don't want to order it and then end up paying hundreds of dollars more for them to adjust everything. I live in the northwest chicago suburbs so prices are high, they are saying around 800 for paint and install. My uncle in michigan who owns a mitsubishi dealership said he can get it painted and installed for me, and have the hood repainted (some damage done to it) for between 400 and 500. Significantly less. Sorry for the long post i am just looking for all the information i can get before i drop a bunch of money.
