04 RA Brake Calipers

when i was changing out my brake pads on the rear wheels today, i noticed that i couldnt compress the right rear caliper. turns out it is broken, somehow. how it happened doesnt matter.

oreilly said it is special order for 142.99
autozone said the '04 RA has rear drums
advance said they dont carry them

i need to find out where to buy the OEM caliper cheap.
or a set of low-end performance calipers.
(im working on a tight budget here.)

please and thankyou

1000th POST!

lol ok but dont even try with the dealer. their prices are usually the highest. RussellM is a vendor here that can probably help you out with pricing. If not you should at least be able to get them at autozone as long as you tell them which is your car with the proper engine/4 discs and such

What is broken on it ?
Not sure if you know but you can purchase the piston by its self and a rebuild kit for about $40.

Good luck with this !

This. I think the piston is just seized on his caliper maybe?

I can't believe that you actually broke the caliper. (Possible, but seems pretty unlikely.) Perhaps you seized a piston, or had some other failure.

As mentioned above, you probably just need a rebuild kit and possibly a new piston. (But likely just a rebuild kit.) Do you have pictures or an explanation of what happened?

Talk to either of these people if you want new.
They have the best prices hands down.
Talk to Keith here. They have the best customer service i have ever experienced.

Or PM Russel on the forum.
I haven't personally dealt with them but they have VERY competitive prices.

Both of these places blew my dealers away.

thanks everyone, but my dad was helping me put the pads and calipers back on when it broke/seized/whatever and he said he would buy me new ones.

and rockauto did not have them that i could tell.
thanks otter, but finding a junkyard would take too much time for me. im in college and i work 3-4 nights a week.
deathsythe - i know the regional manager for oreilly and i have always liked their service so i stick with them.
geardownson and raikiri - i will keep these vendors in mind.

happy 1000th post raikiri. w00t.
