Torque app

I have it. It's pretty good, not sure how accurate it is, haven't been able to benchmark it against running at the strip as far as 1/8 mile or 1/4 times. Maybe when the summer arrives I'll run it while doing some runs at the strip and see how close it is.
It's worth the money just for the OBDII stuff. I bought the cheapo ELM 327 from eBay, works fine.
It's fun to mess around with it.

Why wouldn't be accurate? It's getting all the readings through the OBDII.
After watching some youtube videos I've order something similar from ebay. After I get it if you guys want I can post a review. Like you said, for $4.99 for the app and $20 for the bluetooth adapter I think it's worth it to mess around.

Maybe it's the programmer in me, but I need to reconcile this with something that I know is accurate in order to qualify that the numbers are accurate through this app. I don't doubt that it is providing ballpark numbers, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it just yet.

I use it. I just think it's a fun thing to play with. I have, however, used it 3 times in the last 2 months to check a few co-workers CELs. I just with our cars had the ambient temp. On the main page of my Torque app I do:
1. MPG (instant)
2. Vacuum
3. Voltage
4. Intake temp
5. Coolant temp
6. MAF rate
7. HP
8. Torque
I find it amusing more than informative, but whatever... I Love Android!!

Finally I got my Bluetooth adapter and I have been testing the app for the last 2 days. I am very disappointed. Most of the info it gives it's way off: it tells me I have 250HP, 350 torque, 40MPG average, no reading at all from O2, it freezes sometimes, etc. Like everybody said it's just for fun...

I have this app also used with a cheap 8$ ebay OBDII scanner, its fun to play with. And having the scanner ability is really nice. I used it the day I got it on my G/f Jeep. As for HP/TQ readings I dont see it as reliable numbers, but for me it was consistant which gave me the ability to judge gains on aftermarket pieces. MPG for me was pretty close, you probably have it done, but you have to input some info into the app for correct read back.

There are some issues with some of his algorithims, but he is fixing the issues. It's pretty close, but as I said before, it's not 100% accurate.

But forreal.. mine has never surpassed 150 HP or 160 TQ, and I get info from my O2 sensors, but yea.. not a big fan of trying to convert all this stuff either. Lbs and Farhenheit for me please.
