Hood vents on my ralliart?

I know, I am a vulture too. When something like a CF vented hood may come onto the market I would be on it too! So expensive to ship that stuff up here. I am so fortunate that I got mine for so cheap, let the previous owner incur the majority of the cost. I found a damaged VIS CF hood for $50 a year ago, I didn't pull the trigger, why I have no idea... I could have repaired it and sold it. I get weekly requests from Car Domain, asking where I got my hood, and if I would sell mine. Probably for the best, I have so many projects on the go right now...

lol I just bought this car off a guy and he had a minor accident so he just changed his hood. The paint under the hood is pretty much coming off but i might paint it by my self. My car is white btw.

Not sure if you have ever seen the new style Evo/Ralliart hood but underneath the vents there is, what looks to me, a tin/some metal flashing that redirects air flow. I know Home Depot and a few others have a flashing available, I used some in my doors, but I cannot recall the price of it. I know it wasn't expensive. There will be a little fab work involved but probably not all that much, depends on how far you want to go with it.
If it were me I would go out and get the flashing and do one layer of fiberglass on it for support. If your current hood is glassed then adding a little more won't affect the weight to much, no where near to bring it back to where the stock hood weighs. Thinking about it now, I don't know how the fiberglass would react in the engine compartments heat. Maybe someone else here would know if the glassed hoods have some sort of coating on the underside to help prevent any heat damage. Maybe just using the flashing would be better lol. Depending on what your looking for you can either completely seal up the vent or just redirect air flow.
