I made 2 runs with my new G-Tech last night. Mind you, I only got two tries at it and its not like I could practice and I had to watch for traffic and po-po. My first run, I had some wheelspin in first and a loud chirp in second and I ran a 16.4 @ 91. The second time I slipped the clutch a bit at around 3200 rpm and it bogged just a little but no wheelspin. I did have to drive around a truck - I ran 16.1 @ 89. Both times I shifted right around 6K. I'm sure if I had an actual track (instead of I-95 @ 2 am) and some practice and level roadway 15.0 is in reach. I have only a CAI.
The G-Tech is pretty cool. I couldn't really try many other features because of traffic conditions. All in all, not bad for $50.

I've been curious about these. I have the obvious questions such as how do they work, install, accurracy, etc...

Its always accurate - you just don't get as good results - I'm doing 1/4 mile runs on a non level road and having to go around other vehicles which leads to slower times. I also have 1 or 2 chances at it while merging, traffic conditions etc hamper my runs.

Just remember - a level road will make it more accurate. That's why you have to have it level before you begin or it won't read.
For example, I set it to level on one road, did a slow turn onto another road, stopped and launched and got a time of something like 13.xx. So make sure you get that sucker level. Cuz my Lancer doesn't do 13s or 14s or even 15s.

I understand completely. What I mean to say is that the times I got were consistant with the conditions and how I had to drive - the 1/4 times were ligitimate based on the fact that i was on that specific road w/ some othe traffic etc. Anyway, its a bit of a novely but can be useful and sure is fun.

The install is the same as hanging a radar detector from your windshield.
Last night I did a horsepower run. For vehicle weight, I used 3150lb (car + my fat *** + 10 gallons gas + a few pounds for S&S). Anso note the HP readings are going to be less that a dyno b/c of parasitic losses (depending on type of dyno) and the fact that you have aero drag. I got a final HP reading of 138 - not bad. This confirms for me that on a dyno the cars are pulling 140-145 hp to the wheels.
