Anyone used this size tires with a 40 mm offset? I'm looking into this set up and any experience would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm running 215/40/17's with an offset of +43 mm with no rubbing issues

I've read that even 42 Offset its ok, but the main problem is will it work with a 40 offset.

Thanks for the input... how's the handling and ride quality and what-not?

The ride is harsher because of the lower profile tire but it definitely looks nicer than the stock 16's. Since the rims and tires are a little bit heavier, I find that acceleration is a tad slower but I like the wider tires. If you want a less harsh ride than you might want to consider 205/45/17's

Good stuff redboy. As far as ride harshness goes, bring it on baby. I don't even notice it and if passengers wanna compain, they can go get some mushy, heavy 7 series beamer or something. BTW redboy, how heavy are your new rims?

Tenuki, I still haven't figured out if +40mm will work... an e-bay store called extremewheel has a 17x7 listed to fit under the 04+ RA, but I dunno how much to trust them.

update: wait a sec, in the noob thread and the sticky in this section, it's stated that anything between +40mm and +46mm is good for a 7" wide. Does this mean you're looking at a 17x7.5"?
