Tein Stech Springs

For those who have these, did you buy aftermarket shocks or struts or they run fine with stock parts? i overheard ppl saying it might ruin ur shocks or smth just checking!

In the long run they will kill your shocks faster than OEM springs. Due to the more aggressive spring rates. If your city has a lot of bumpy roads etc you might be better off with other options, or be prepared to buy some struts

They blew my stock struts fairly quickly, but my stock struts were already getting old. I wouldn't expect the stock struts to last longer than 20-30,000 miles with the S-techs.

+1, i installed my stechs last summer and my shocks are pretty much gone. if i was you id look into a basic damper kit or some other coilover kit. it will probably save you more money in the long run. i wish i would have just saved for a good suspension.

Replacement struts aren't that expensive. Front ones can be found for about $90/each shipped, rears for about $50 each, so to replace all 4 is less than $300.

Where? One of those "do it all" kinda of brake/suspension/exhaust shops, like Midas or Meineke, or your local mechanic. Many tire shops do suspension work, too, like Belle Tire or Discount.

I have S techs and when my car is cold they squeak and creak and make all sorts of horrible noises. It drives me crazy. When the weather is warmer I do not hear anything. I had aftermarket adjustable struts for my last mitsu and they still made lots of noise. Does this mean they are starting to go bad?

Our cars make all kinds of creaking noises.

If your springs are making excessive noise, you might need to clean out the spring perches.

Run 'em until your struts die, then get new (better) struts.
