EBC RedStuff new brakes squeak

I just replaced all of my brake pads from stock to DP31614C (Redstuff) for fronts and the proper ones for the rear. I have been driving around for 3 days now and when i apply the brake i am getting squeak noises. I cant determine if its from all 4 wheels or not. If i apply the brake hard i dont get the noise. I checked my rotors and there is no noticeable damage on them. I ran my nail accross as well to check for groves. Is there a break in period with these brake pads? Other than the noise these brakes are amazing!

yes, there is a break in period on all brakes. normal brakes IIRC, general rule of thumb is 3 soft complete stops, followed by 3 sort of hard complete stops. you should avoid abusing them for the first little while though anyways. when i do brakes on my own cars, i dont push them for at least 400km. this is what happens when you put semi race parts on a street car. certain unpleasantries are bound to occur. the stock RA pads do an amazing job right out of the box IMO...dont know what you would gain from redstuffs other than overworkign the ABS. lol. just my opinon. good luck with the sqeal

I've got 7k miles on my Redstuff's (have them all around) and they still squeal and squeak when stopping. Get ready for the daily cleaning of brake dust from your wheels! My wheels look completely black after 3 days of driving.

Performance pads are always going to make some noise. I have EBC redstuff on the rear and they squeak at almost every stop. Axxis ultimates on the front and they're noisy, too. It's part of the trade off for better braking power.

if you've ever had Hawk HP+ in any other car(too bad they dont make HP+ for the front ralliart brakes..makes no sense to just make the rears)...u will realize in cold weather (esp toronto winters, and even during summers occasionally.) they WILL squeek.
redstuff's are basically the closest equivelant(SP?) to HP+

in other words this is normal...don't worry about it...just stop in front of a group of people and watch the expression on their faces.

haha thats exactly what i do. I usually just brake harder cause then i get less noise. when i slow down to a rolling stop i sort of sound like the TTC buses haha
