I've noticed over time, my alloy ralliart rims (I believe they are enkei?) have started to yellow around the dips in the spokes. not sure if this is due to heat or brake dust or what...

Does anyone have any suggestions for homebrew cleaning solutions to get these back to looking like new? I've tried scrubbing with sponges and soapy water but that only went so far. I'd prefer to avoid the store-bought wheel cleaning chemicals (like eagle 1), they always seemed to ruin the rims on my previous cars over the long haul.

The stock wheels are painted and clear coated, so try using a liquid paint cleaner and a cleaner wax.

try a steamer... that worked really well on my old car's rims. Well that was before i ran it over with my old car haha.

if you can get some acid chrome wheel cleaner and only use a little bit. or glass cleaner and steel wool

NONONONO!!!!! Do NOT use steel wool or an acid wheel cleaner on clear coated wheels, it will ruin them.

The best none abrasive cleaner for the money (one of the best is PS21 wheel gel but is like 21 bucks) is Meguiars Gold Class wheel cleaner, should be at Target for like 7 bucks and change. Spray it on a wet wheel let it is sit for a few minutes then use a soft wheel brush then spray off.

Another tip is stubborn stains like the other poster said is cleaner wax, I used Meguiars professional line (light yellowish bottle) I can not rem the number but works great and leaves protection. You might have to order it direct, and might as well get the wheel cleaner too. Also the cleaner wax can be used for the rest of the paint on the car as well.
