yes and yes. Vlip then vinyl black out of the centre bit. and yes baked the headlights to wire up the AE's. Hood and roof are done in vinyl. replica evo wing and side vents and volia mini evo. All fitted by myself But I am kicking myself for not getting the ralliart in the first place, I've got it right where I want looks wise but sadly its all show and no go. Well no more room to improve the "go" bit.

anybody thinking of getting that borla 11782 exhaust 96Eclipsed has up there based just on his youtube clip.. its actually better in person. trust me. i'm assuming his gts is a cvt, and all those manual guys out there, including myself, man, its so much better when you kick it into 2nd and 3rd gear. 1st gear is pretty normal if you want to keep it on the downlow, but you would have to keep the needle under 2k if you dont want to be heard.
i give a +1 for the borla. greddy got nothing on it

I do have the CVT, which I like better than manual...but it's the same thing, acceleration is pretty loud, decel is as well, but idle and constant speed, the sound is just above stock...

I didnt mean anything against the CVT's at all dude. All i was trying to really get at is when people rev their cars at idle, it sounds so much different than actually driving it in 3rd gear (or on a CVT) around 35 mph vs. just sitting there for anybody thinking of buying our exhaust in the future. I really liked your exhaust note and your videos was one of the ones i watched to make my decision to get the borla in the first place.

In fact, I did notice that the sound, weeks after install, has deepened a bit. I'm going to try and do a drive by at some point and post it.
What surprises me most is that nearly half the people I know who own the borla say it's too loud...I think it's pretty quiet compared to some fart cans I've owned on my old Eclipse and it's definitely quieter than the greddy SP my Eclipse has now...
Glad I could help your decision...

There are several ways you can go. The most common is plasti-dip...not sure if you're familiar with it, but it's basically spray on plastic that peals off when you want and doesn't harm the paint.
What I did was had an accident and had the shop who did the repair used flat black paint on the center piece. That pic above is me covering the many, many chips and a scrape from some douche backing into me...you can see my license plate was folded back on the top left corner. Anyway, I used some Bumper & Accessory spray paint from O'Rielly's (Kragen) that is flat black...my daughter and I masked it off and I did about 4 coats with 10-15 minutes in between each coat. What I like about this is that it's flat black and looks OEM...meaning it has the kind of plastic-bumper look...but also, it filled in the chips so it's all smooth...it even covered a drip from my stupid overspray. In about 6-10 month's I'll probably do it again to keep it looking good.
