There had to be like 30 high performance cars in the segment they were comparing.
It didn't matter how much the car cost. They threw it all out. Even the Mossler was in it and placed 2nd to the Viper.
THE RACE IS KNOWN AS THE LIGHTNING LAP COMPARISON.
THERE ARE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS.

here is the article. It starts on car and driver and links to autoblog for the full article.
It might not be complete but it's a great start.

Yep, the same one. I think it was black with red rally stripes. The viper was pulling a 1.08g on the skid and an average of .93-.97 on the track. The GTR placed like 5th overall. MR was like 8th and comfort vs performance was Rx8 as 3rd place.

"According to the downloadable PDF sheet that lists lap times, the Cobalt beat some ridiculous cars, including the 135i, Lancer Evo MR, Lexus IS F, Honda S2000, Lotus Elise SC, Impreza STI, Audi S5...what da #*@! Am I reading that right?"

Yeah that was the reason why i posted it.
I thought it was an interesting read.
They start off with classifying the cars by the price and let them compete with each other.
And then after all the comparisons were done within their own price range, that's when they compared them to all the other classes and ranked them accordingly as a whole using all cars. And some cars what were in the LL1 class were beating LL3 class cars!
I was like WTF? How is that possible? But the numbers were there.
That article will have some deep pocket people looking a little sheepish.
LOL

According to C&D the Cobalt did better track times than all these cars... I mean, c'mon... Good job GM, how much did you pay all these american magazines... Give me a break... someone explain it to me!

Wow! GM did invest alot of money in to marketing to make their cobalt ss stand out and be known. I wonder after all of this spending, how much people would actually buy the cobalt ss. I hope their strategy works out good, if not they just wasted tons of money....

I think people are being a bit paranoid in regards to the Cobalt. I'm not that shocked that it outperformed all the cars listed above. It has gobs of power, it's lightweight, its suspension was tuned at the Nurburgring, and it comes stock with a host of performance goodies like flat-foot shifting and launch control.

I drove the SS. Its quick, it looks sexy in black and the digital boost gauge feature is sweet but i still wouldn't buy it. Despite what the magazines say, it didn't really feel that much faster than the RA even with the launch control. MS3 still tops it in my book.

Alot of people will buy the Cobalt SS.
This is a Mitsubishi forum.
Go to a Chevy forum and talk that ***t. And watch yo *** get burnt.
Chevy will clown Mitsubishi and Subaru.
They love their domestics.
But be real. It's quite a bold statement and I knew posting this article will raise eyebrows on class of cars that were tested and compared.
22 in all.
The fact still remains is that the Cobalt is an impressive car on paper.
Too bad it's just one ugly SOB.

We will see i'm going two race event a next 3 weeks and i hope there will be a SS a front of me so i can tape it.
They are not that fast to beat the STI or the EVo. that is hardcore marketing and i call it a lie. Since they want to hurt some one with those statements.
And the best part of it the SS owners knows that. Just we are the ones who freaks out.
Mostly because it is hard to believe, how far you can go in the media, if you got paid from certain people or companies.

Something to keep in mind, there are a lot of variables when it comes to racing. It's possible that you're a better driver than those in the Cobalt or it's possible that in the comparo the Cobalt driver was better than the Evo driver (since there were three different drivers doing the test).

Oh You? here is your car... Now who is the best driver guys? Oke here is yours...
0.2th second is a half a car length , If..
But looks like, enough to grow self esteem and making false dreams...
