Basically a diverter valve dumps the charge-air back into the air intake system keeping external noise to a minimum. This increases both quicker throttle response and higher clamping load to maintain boost pressure more reliably.

It also gives you that nice wooosh sound. Its not as loud as a blow off valve cause it has to recirculate but u can get some nice sound out of them.

How expensive is one of those? I would have sworn when I test drove the RalliART a couple months ago that I got a lil' bit of a wooosh sound when it shifted, but now that I own one I don't notice it?

what u can do is get a drop in filter for your car, something like K&N would make the WOOSH sound a little louder. normally on a stock DV u don't really hear it too much. If you really want the sound then get a Forge Dv, their the best beside the stock one. i think they run around 225 ish.

And those don't make your car run rich like a BOV?

the drop in filters? Nope, they will be fine, if you get a intake then u gotta get a tune. Then again, stock mitsu cars are normally running rich anyways.

I meant with the Forge Dv?

nope, only of u VTA, but if is recirculate then it's fine. Some people recommend a tune cause the spring in the Stock DV and aftermarket DV hold boost differently. at least my tuner did.

Congratulations on a nice Forge Unit. I have a recirculated one in my Evo. You will want to recirculate the BOV. The car will run a bit rich in between shifts and have a low RPM idle upon coming to a stop.

you dont need tune, if you change your BOV. Not the BOV regulate the boost.

The DV was decent. I hated messing with the springs inside them. Luckily, the puny ralliart turbo doesn't need a super stiff spring.
It'll hold 25psi easy.

I don't see how a BPV can increase throttle response unless the stock one isn't doing its job. It's basically a noise maker. If you want to make the sound a bit more noticeable, go with an open element intake. Make sure you get a tune if you go this route though.

Hahaha, let me add to this. What's wrong with the stock one? Is the 9lbs of boost leaking out of it?
