I could not get the Stock OEM filter off for the life of me! I broke a new filter socket (crap blk plastic ones) and could not get the wrench type to fit in the tiny area around the oil filer to get it off. I just changed the oil and will leave it on till my actual 5k oil change where i may bring it in to get that sucker removed or find a better solution.

Anyone else have issues getting their first filter off, I swear over torqued this thing so I would have to bring it in!?

I got a metal oil filter socket from pepboys and I got mine off last time with no issue...can't remember the size tho I guess i can look that up later.

and btw I used K&N filters for the past 2 years and recently switched to OEM because it's half the price of K&N. I have not noticed any differences (probably never will).

I just switch from OEM to K&N oil filter.
Yes, K&N is expensive now a days.

Honda accord oil filter would work too, FYI.

I got a 80mm x 15 flutes oil filter metal socket from Pepboys ($6). I originally bought it for my Genesis Coupe and later found out that the Mitsubishi OEM is the same size.

Has anyone conformed that the Honda filters are the same? Oem Honda filters are very well made pieces would not mind using those at all. Honda uses the same thread and seal area on all there 89+ cars so if it fits you can get the bigger s2000 filters.
