Picked up a RA 09 Today!!

Wazzaa guys!! well i just picked up mah 09 Rally Red RA.
i was wondering if any1 known how to get ride of that CHROME Ring around the grill!! i hate chrome !! lol.. i want it to be BLACK lik da EVO looking style..
does any1 known if that comes off or i can buy a girll that switches all that... or even paint it?
mah bro told me there is a black tape he can put on it.. n it would look good.. n the bodyshop told me they mite b able to paint it!
any1 got ideas..?

theres a thread about painting that chrome but bro, the evo mr does have chrome on the front...lol

actually if that piece is the same diamater in both the evo and ralliart, you might be able to just bolt it right on. I found something like that on ebay for like 200 bucks.... reason why i wouldn't want to try it, i don't want to spend 200 bucks on something that might not fit lol (i could always return it though), but i def like the two openings unlike the ralliart's fully covered piece of plastic;

the ring is nice ..it lets people know your drive an RA, and not an evo wannabe. ya digg?

Yeah there is a tape that you can use to blacken the crome ring, I would try that out first then if you really like the look then paint. My car is black so if I painted the ring black it might look too dark with no contrast to break up the front. From the side my car looks to plain I can barely see the crome strip on the side. I would also like to see if the carbon fiber part fits.

I was actually just at the dealer, and they showed me diagrams on how the evo has different supports behind the grill that the RA doesn't have becuase the RA bumper is all one piece, and the EVO mid piece can be taken out. You would have to buy a whole new inner bracketing system (220 at mitsubishi) and hope that it fits, because they said they had never done it before. I found the same carbon fiber grill on ebay
