For double the money, YES, you do get that much more performance. The GT-R run at Nuremberg proves that. You will NEVER get the same performance from an Evo, STI, WRX, or even RA as you will from a GT-R, speed maybe, performance, no.

As for "where will you ever come close to using the limits of any of these 3 cars" a lot of people AutoX these cars on the weekends. In terms of a straight up daily driver, these cars are a bit over the top, but then that's just my opinion. For me the RA is a perfect DD, good power, great handling, great looks, but others want something more, to each their own.

Personally, I would love to have a GT-R for a daily driver if for no other reason than the looks of the car and it's features.

You aren't going to get the limit of performance on an AUTOX either. I think the GT-R looks expensive. I am sure it would be a fun as a DD, but for that kind of money, I will take an X and a RA and have some variety.

The GTR is insane at an auto-x, I believe C&D did a comparison between various cars including the Evo X MR and the GTR and it was pretty amazing.

NOO DON'T the 08 stis are one of the biggest flops ever. the new 2009 wrx outperforms the 2009 stis (also the 2008 stis). some people probably lost their job in subaru for that mess up haha.

A banging deal? Like how much are we talking about? I don't know about that, but new EvoXs can be had for $10k off MSRP if you find the right dealer... STy???

I personally got mine for $8k off & 0% APR!

Oh really? Could've fooled me and the friend who just got an '09 WRX. Trust me, even if the WRX really out accelerated the STi (it doesn't) there's plenty enough other differences to make it worth it. I kept asking him "well does it have this, does it have this, does it have that" and almost all the answers were no.

They're quick and definitely a whole level ahead of the sub-09 models, but definitely do not make the STi a flop.

Ummm....no, the Ralliart managed a 14.1 1/4 time to the STI's 13.6 (R&T times). The Rallliart is absolutely destroyed in the handling and braking departments as well. Yes you can mod it to be as fast (since it responds nicely to simple bolt-ons) but you can do the same to the STI. For a DD, the Ralliart is a sweet package, if you want a weekend racer, the STI (or Evo) is likely a better choice.

STi has been a failure ever since the new age GDB "bug eye", I think that's why they kept changing the headlight design every 2 years, the only best Impreza ever produced was GC8.

I don't think so, IHI makes Subaru turbos but I can't find any information linking IHI to Mitsubishi.

IF you looking for a car right around the same price range, your better off getting a evo. And putting on a few mods thats will allow you to kill super cars in the quartermile, and some on top end.

NO, 105k, which is only about 1/3 more than a GTR.

I did not say it would not be good on the AutoX, I said it would not be at the limit, going back to my point that no car that is daily driven is ever going to see the limit in that capacity. So in a sense you really only ever use a fraction of the car, unless you actually track it, which few ever do. It is more for ego, than for reality.
