change/update NAVI software
Hey hey,
So i notice the navigation software that comes with the car isn't up to par to some of the GPS units out there (i.e wrong cities for certain POI's, or some POI's not in the listings)
Is there a way to change the software or update it in anyway?

Google Maps are old by 2 years also
And u can get the Update DVD here:
http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/catalog/?section=659
although the cd you're talking about is probably an even newer version than the one above

There is an update CD/DVD and an eletrontic key that you plug into the Navi system to initiate the update. If I'm not mistaken, they were two seperate items. The CD/DVD being $60 or $70-ish, and the key being additional. You can get the upgrade CD/DVD..but it would be completely useless without the key that starts the upgrade process.
For POIs that aren't in my system...I just save the long/lat coordinates into the address book and label it accordingly. This method works just fine for me currently...I'll probably update the maps in another year or two anywho.
On a side note something funny happened the other day with my navi...
There used to be an overpass/bridge that crossed over a major highway here (Adams Road bridge that runs over M-59 for anyone local) that was demolished a couple months ago. So now, whenever I punch in directions for my girl's father's house...the navi tells me to drive off the edge of a 35~40ft drop, avoid oncoming traffic moving at 70-80mph, bust through cement barriers, avoid traffic coming from the other direction, and drive up the hill onto the road on the other side.

a key? damn so you can't even download it somewhere hahaha.. since we bought our car a month ago we're gonna try and push for the update.
the funny thing is this navi system doesn't even know one way streets!
i was in an area not familiar to me and i needed to get to the main road but it told me to turn onto a one way street.. i had to make a u turn and get out another way!
mann i wish we had the navi systems Korea had! traffic, construction, one way, two way, everything is up to date by satellite.. ; <
