Ralliart Trade In

prolly looking at 18k depending on mileage, how much you owe and what your buying.
edit:
http://www.volvocenter.com/web/1500/...426&store=1500
-base model with 4k miles they are asking 22,800 which they more than likely will not get seeing as a used evo x with 15-25k miles can be found as low as 24-25k
also 2 fellow RA members on this forum attempted to sell their car (and now there is a 3rd) i think one went as low as 19k and it couldnt sell the other was selling a RR RA with 6k miles for 20-21k (forgot) and it didnt sell it ended up repoed or sent to carmax (where carmax had offered him 17k)

keep in mind that guy is in canada where the prices are higher and could also be in CAD not USD.
i know 17k-19k is a little low but you cant expect to get 23-25k when base 2008 gsr's are barely getting that with moderate mileage.

well according to mitsubishi website.. a base ralliart is around 26k... mitsubishi depreciates like crazy so its unreal to expect to get a trade in of 22-24k.. you also have to think how much the dealer will sell the used car. obviously you can't sell the car around 25k because why would someone buy a used car for one grand less......

You could do WAY better than that on price, especially considering the economy and car sales being what they are right now. I think that I paid $23,500 including tax, tag, and title (that means that the car was about $20,000). However, I couldn't get the accessory navigation package, because they only had one TB Ralliart. On hindsight, I should have waited to get that with the car. I got lucky and found a cheap replacement stock unit from a wrecked Lancer, but from the stealership, the navigation unit alone was around $2,000 (not to mention the $500 installation kit). It comes as a package stock for $1,600 or so. Just food for thought.
Also didn't notice you said 09, in that case I would not do the deal at all for that price. Unless your getting it well under invoice plus 0% apr theres no reason to buy an 09.
The 10 have some nice interior upgrades and have one less year of depreciation. This is OT, but I ran some numbers the other day through a few dealers that friends work for and my car is worth an average of 17k with about 11k miles...ouch .

everything varies on trade ins...the car you buy, how much you owe , mileage condition etc etc
if you trade in an almost brand new car, in this case a ralliart for another used car...dealerships love this. you have no idea what they paid for that evo 9 or how much the previous owner was upside down and that $ was tacked onto his new car... its a cycle where the only person who wins is the dealership...
obviously it was a good deal for you but most likely it was a GREAT deal for the dealership and in both scenarios they come up on top we just never know how far on top

So THAT's where you've been!
Are you planning on trading your RA in for an upgrade? If you are, I suggest you plan on going to multiple dealers, not just dealers but all sorts of dealers, and get estimates from everyone.
What I did with my old Tiburon was I drove it deep, deep into the ghetto to a couple dealers around there and got Trade-In appraisals at each of them. First you need to figure out how much you want to trade the car in for (don't shoot for the moon here, stick to KBB/etc. good or great value). Next, drive into a dealer knowing exactly what you're looking for - look for a car that's similiar to what you'd ideally like to buy (confirm they have one on the phone first, couple days prior - don't leave information). If they let you, test drive it. Talk them into appraising your car on the spot there, and get that number in writing on some dealer letterhead if you can. Leave. Head to another dealer in nearby ghetto area, and put all of the dealers up against each other until you get a number you're happy with. Finally, take that number to your dealer (or whoever you're planning on purchasing from) and show them what someone else is willing to offer for your car and if they're willing to match it you'd be purchasing your new car through them.
Keep us updated How many miles/kms do you have on your RA?

RA has 10k miles on it right now.
I'm looking at picking up a 2010 X if I can swing it, or an '08 if the monthly payments aren't what I want on the 2010. I've purchased 4 cars from these guys before so I'm hoping they will work with me on trade in.
