i did put it up here the third time... LOL
Yes the ECU and the TCU cross reference each other. The ECU more so.

i know that, but the question is this:
If you change the transmission for an another type /ergo X- SST/ How the Ecu react for different speed - TQ- Rpm relation reading, and type of TCU?

Torque management and such is done in the ECU with it talking to the TCU

So far, I believe TCU manages shift speeds, heat management, pressure and of course gear selection.

You can change shift quality via some ECU tables to a certain extent.

There was a nice small little breakthrough recently that should help us understand alot more.

Does anyone know of a shop in Texas that deals with SST rebuilds/upgrades? Preferably near Houston? Thanks.

wow this is great you swapped a evo x MR tranny into a ralliart, why didnt you take any pics? from what i have read in your posts it was a direct bolt on, still you should have taken pics, most likely you are the first to do it.. now since this is possible, not we know that a 5 spd swap will happen soon somewhere!~

If you did you would run into problems, Gearing ratios are differnet between the two cars so the ecu and tcu would be sending each other conflecting signals.

I have a quick question. I was told or possibly read somewhere that the SST transmission in the Evo X MR and the SST in our Ralliarts have slightly different gear ratios and one of the reasons why was to better match the transmission to the turbo that came stock on that particular car. Can anyone shed some light on this? I guess this would also help the Ralliart zip around town and also give more top end to the Evo?

Quick Reply: Evo X SST installed in a Ralliart 09!!!!!
