Rev Limiter?

This may be a silly question but is there a rev limited on the 2010 Ralliart? I know the dash shows revs max out at 9,000. I was driving in sport manual 1st gear and decided to get on the gas. At 7,000 rpms It was like my engine or trannny took a big dump. Scared me because for the most part I baby my Ralliart and don't want to hurt it. When I shifted into 2nd gear it seemed fine again.

There's a rev limiter on the 2009, so I assume there's one on the 2010 as well.

You won't hit VTEC, but I'm pretty sure that you will travel through time.

of course the rev is limited, its limited in most production cars, especially nowadays. I think it is 6800 but I have seen ralliarts hit 7000 rpms before fuel cut. the "big dump" you felt is some driveline shock from a high rpm gear change, im guessing. The car doesnt make that much power that high anyway, I think a good place to shift even if you're driving fast is somewhere in the 6000 to 6500 range max. cheers. (this is all for stock ralliarts, I dont know anything about tuned ones)

The standard rev limiter is set at 6800rpm, even after you rise the rev limiter to 7100 there is not much of a power gain as the standard RA turbo just runs out of puff.

In most cases leaving it in sport auto is going to give you the highest rpm shift without bouncing it off the rev limiter. Shifting manually would be a real challenge getting it to shift perfect because of the lag from when you tell it to shift and when it actually does. Every car has a rev limit before the engine goes pop and very few cars would allow you to go past that limit.

I have found that in Sport/Auto mode, it is pretty snappy. Seems to get pretty close to redline when it shifts.

Yea i need to get a Tactrix Cable now and get my GST 2.5 map loaded. I notice now with my Evo X Bov that in sport auto mode it is hitting the rev limiter for a short time. With that tune does it take your rpm range higher?
