Ah that's where your comment came from.
You got me wrong, I was saying that people consider the Evo to be a bumpy rough ride but it's not. I was simply saying go ride in a Cobra with a solid rear and you'll think the Evo is soft afterwards.
I know *I* don't want a solid rear again for quite some time.

Relative to an VIII, it is a whole lot easier to make some extra power, and better gas mileage, on an RA/X. A simple tune, and a couple bolt-ons will gain you FAR more than those equivalent changes on an VIII or IX.
As for potential, the RASB has quite a bit. Its still a very new platform (2 years), so it hasn't been fully developed, but the following is strong and loyal, which makes for good potential.
I traded in a Subie for my RASB, and I would never consider looking back. This car is hands down a step above!

Came from a evo 8 to RA.
Since your lightly modded you will not notice the power difference at all. It might even feel faster too. I know it shifts faster and I had a cusco twin disc clutch.
You will miss the quick steering rack, brakes and suspension though. I wish I waited a little and gotten the sport back, but the sedan also holds a lot with the rear seats folded down.

It really seems like its gonna be a love it or hate it trade off. Like I said I've always wanted a wagon. haha. Weird thing to want, but I really like the looks and styling of the sportback and I love my Evo, but with the wife not being able to drive it and being in the Army, I think she just needs more attention than I can give her. She only has 49K on the original motor. With the RA if we pack up and go somewhere we can take turns driving atleast. I think it will be a more practical trade off. To each his own. And I have no trunk space to store stuff due to a 2.5 gal meth reservoir and relocated battery.

i love my RA. there was a huge difference in price, but i got the performance that i wanted and can always go higher when i want. yes there are differences between the EVO and RA but its not pulling teeth and this car can be modded to perfection. all in all i never had an evo but going from a pt cruiser to an RA is a giant leap forward for me, so im very happy

I went from a modded evo 8 to an RA. No regrets at all. I wanted a new car, that was a bit passenger friendlier and more practical as a daily driver, but still fun when it had to be. RA is perfect for that. Don't worry about reviews on the cars handling, wheel and tire change can correct that stuff easily.

I have been pondering this for the last few days. Since I have yet to drive an evo I cant speak to how they drive. I've always wanted a Evo 8 but "livability" of the RA and my situation.
