Mod Suggestion's
Hi Guys,
Im coming up to my half year bonus and would like to spend some money on modding my car. This is my first turbo car which i have been interested in Modding... i unfortunately have no past experience.
I would like to know what mods are suggested before going for a tune. Preferable a list which would not require a tune until the final parts are installed. I would like to say price limit is 2k + tune.
Thanks!
Im driving a 09 Ralliart sedan.

I'd just go with a turbo back exhaust and intake for now. Probably leave the stock cat for now. Without the GST tune you should be fine. Just have to get it tunned if you want the boost pill and map. A wideband AFR gauge would be good to, always wanna have a safe ratio.

There are plenty of things to do that aren't engine-tune related at all, like...
- Wider rims than the dodgy stock ones (assuming you haven't already done it).
- Wider tyres to fit on the rims (eg. 235/40/R18), to replace the awful originals.
- Front camber adjustment bolts to give you a bit of -ve camber.
- Decent intercooler, plus upper and lower piping. Evo X one is cheap and effective.
If you're keen to get into engine changes and aren't 100% dead-set on getting someone else to tune it, you could try:
- Buying the kit to flash a tune yourself (Tactrix OP2.0) and log (EvoScan).
- Buying a boost pill from GST Motorsports.
- Acquiring a laptop/netbook, for EcuFlash (free) and EvoScan.
- Flashing the car's ECU yourself with the latest GST Base Map (free).
- Wideband for "insurance".
That would give you an entry point to gain quite a lot of knowledge and experience in what makes a t/c car tick.
With the added bonus that the car would go like stink.

I would say get a full turboback exhaust, Intercooler and pipes upgrade, boost pill, intake.
UR Turboback exhaust (with testpipe and short downpipe): $1050
UR upper intercooler pipes: $170
UR intercooler: $650
Boostpill: $20
UR intake: $150
Total: $2040
Edit: This along with a tune will give you some nice improvement in numbers. UR claims the intake with catback exhaust and testpipe dyno'ed at 240 whp and 255 tq. With the intercooler/pipes, turboback exhaust, and intake, UR claims 265 whp and 270 tq. You can prob get a bit more out of it with a protune especially with the boostpill.
Edit2: You can probably get a nice deal from Ultimate Racing if you are getting a bunch of parts at the same time.

There are many things you can change to add power and many options of each. One thing that is great bang for the buck is a used Evo X Intercooler. Get the upper and lower pipes at very least if you do change it out. All Though It's best to get the UICPs aftermarket. Hard pipes have no flex and give better turbo response. A cat-back is prob then next best thing. Test pipe is a great power adder but may not be an option in your area. If that's the case you could get a HFC. The downpipe is only ness if you change the turbo. You should look into a wideband of some sort. I like the AEM.
