EVO X Recaro Swap:
So... I swapped our my stock RA seats for the X Recaros and got the airbag light as expected. So I took my car to a Mitsubishi dealer to get the airbag sensor re calibrated to the car like so many have done.
3 hours and $95 later I get my car back with the light still on. I go to the service writer and he says "Yeah, its not possible to recalibrate your sensor because the seats are from a 2008 and your car is a 2011" WTF?
Has anyone else had this issue?
Any advice?
Thanks!

i dont know of anything that is different, you could try taking your OCM from your RA passenger seat and swapping it into the RECARO seat and asking them to try again but you will probably pay $95 again.
I would ask them exactly what they tried to do, first time I took my car in to recalibrate after swap the dealer did the same thing saying I was crazy to think evo parts would work on a lancer. They had only tired to work on it for less t han an hour before giving up...
turned out the tech (whom I met and wanted to laugh at because he sounded like a complete idiot when he was trying to talk to me) had no idea how to do the zero calibration properly.
I took the car back the next morning with the information from the evo x shop manual on how to preform the weight calibration / reset, they insisted it couldn't be done, i convinced them that they at least owe me another hour or two to try to do it and have someone else try...
by 10am my car was done, picked it up and didnt pay another single cent. the service manager was pissed and wrote all these things on a piece of paper saying my SRS electrical warranty was void this and that....
that dealership closed about 6 months later

Im going to try and take it to another dealership that has done the re calibration before. Can you link me as to where I could find the "evo X shop Manuel on how to perform the weight calibration / reset" Or is this in the owners Manuel?

Hi! I did it and works fine. Just find a small black box under the stock seat and replace the one that is on the evo seat with it and then you can go to the dealer and ask them to calibrate the seat. That box is matched with tha car ecu and is the only one that will work with(thats what they told me) But i did it and everything was fine no cel light or srs.

I found the link how to do it with out the retarded dealers. It worked for me so it work for you only have to do the swap to the passenger side. Read the first post. good luck.
