Question Dash LEDs

Hey guys
My friend has a 2010 ralliart and is changing the LEDs in the dash from red to blue. His already done his AC controls but wants to know if all the LEDs all the same. So like the AC controls, steering wheel, head unit, AWC, etc all use the same LEDs?

The LEDs he has used so far for the AC are 0603 SMD LED's.

Cheers

If my mate has time when I'm over at his place next I'll see if he can do a write up and post some pics.
Also we have been told that the LEDs are the same all round, just waiting for some to arrive so he can do the steering wheel.

Cool Pics

@ omar123, The LEDs he used are rated at 300mcd.
As promised here are some pics of what he has done so far:

AC and Headunit controls:

AC and Headunit controls (Brightness All the way up):

AC and Headunit controls (brightness all the way up)
He had a clear bit of plexiglass cut to fit in where the stock red piece sits infront of the display:

As you can see the display is extremely bright (also note that we have not changed any LEDs in the display, they come as a very pale green, kinda close to an aqua colour). We are currently trying to source something darker to put instead of the clear plexiglass so its not as bright.

My friend now has some more LEDs so he will be doing the steering wheel at some stage over the next few days hopefully. Once his done I'll upload some pics of it.

Cheers

Really cool, I'm impressed. I'd love to do this to my Ralliart, as I'm not a big fan of the Orange LED lights in mine. Any info you post would be appreciated, the more the better, as it'll give us all a better idea of how to replace them.

Love the work!

Thanks!

Okay so we pulled the steering wheel apart..Oh **** they are different LED's. Haha, so we ordered some 0805 and are waiting for them to get here.

We know that the AC controls and head unit uses 0603 LED's.
We believe the steering wheel uses 0805 LED's.
We also think the cluster may use yet another LED, might not know this for a while as it's very expensive to replace if you screw up :P

Also for those who want a write up, my friend said he will but will wait till the steering wheel is done. Also it wont be a short write up Hopefully we'll have this done by next weekend.

Kinda off subject, can you ask your friend what controls the lights in the radio & a/c? Are they controlled together or seperate? And if they are together, where is that wire? (my radio & a/c lights won't come on with the headlights on)

Looks good though, looking forward to the write up.

So they are controlled by separate wires, in fact pretty much everything is controlled by separate wires. One for the cigarette lighter, one for the ac, one for the RCA's, and also a ribbon type cable that all connect to the ac unit. The radio has its own wire and I think there was a wire for the Display above the radio as well. All these wires are behind the dash so to check them you need to pull your dash apart.

Also check you might of blown a fuse so check that first or if you have changed any LEDs you may have them wired up wrong. My friend couldn't think of why they wouldn't come on but just suggested the above. Hope you work it all out mate
