Ralliart Maintenance

My 2009 Ralliart is due for an oil change and according to the maintenance schedule a lot of other stuff. I'm at the 30,000 mile mark and was told that it's going to cost $1,300.00 CAD. Is this cost for the EVO and not the Ralliart version, something to do with the suspension on the EVO etc? I was thinking the price would be closer to $500-$600 tops.

Well Im assuming its $1,300 if you perform ALL of the maintenance listed in the schedule but even that seem ridiculously expensive to change some belts, hoses and whatnot. If your due for an oil change then do just that, the oil change. Its easy and only costs $30 to do yourself. Of course, you want to check everything under the hood to see there arent leaks or anything other than that you should be fine.

I have an 09 as well and im at 49,000K alreayd with oil changes every 3,000

If you drive your to even half its potential, regular maintenance is required (eralier if driven harder, like in my case). I take all the maintenance times and cut them in half. If you only DD then you can follow the listed schedule, but don't skip items. And yes, it's always cheaper to do most of it yourself (engine/tranny/rear diff/transfer case/plugs/coolant you can do yourself with relative ease).

The maintaining costs on this thing sucks hard in Canada. Shop all the dealers in the area. You can get one thing done one month, then get the other done the month after or what have you.

i was in the same boat as you MODE. yes the 1300 is refering to the evo as we dont have brembo on ours. you can expect though that itll be around 800$ still a bit more than you expected. the big cost is changing out the sst oil and filter. make sure that the dealer only charges you for the oil used. depending on how the oil is changed can be from 6L and change to 7L. however the jugs are only sold in gallon jugs and some dealers will charge you for some gallons and profit off of the remaining oil. but at approx 120$ a gallon here in canada thats 240 for oil. 130 for filter. 80 for engine oil. 50$ for air filter. and approx 2-3 hours labour.....200$ totaling 700$ plus or minus. hope this helps

Unfortuntately I cannot perform the maintenance myself as I do not have the proper facilities (no garage or driveway).

I would like to keep up with the maintenance as I have been following the schedule since day 1 and I do like to push the car to its limits from time to time.

I'll take your advice Carbonair and see if I can't get the price somewhere around $800.00, which for all the work that's being done seems somewhat reasonable. I seem to remember that part of the EVO maintenance D package included changing out the EVO suspension hydraulic oil, which is not a part of the Ralliart suspension; surely this would add an additional cost to the package that Ralliart owners would not have to pay for.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I believe the 30,000 Miles (48,000 km) or at 30 months EVO service D includes:

  • Check fuel system for leaks *1
(tank, pipe line and connection, and fuel tank filler tube cap).
*1 This maintenance is recommended but is not
required to maintain the emissions warranty.
  • Check fuel hoses condition. *1
  • Replace air cleaner filter.
  • Replace drive belts (for the generator, water pump, power steering pump).
  • Check and service exhaust system *1
(connection portion of muffler, muffler pipes and converter heat shields).
  • Change engine oil.
  • Replace engine oil filter.
  • Change manual transaxle oil.
  • Check twin clutch sportronic shift transmission oil for evidence of leaks (if necessary, check the oil level).
  • Change transfer oil.
  • Check reserve tank fluid level (for active center differential).
  • Change engine coolant.
  • Inspect coolant hoses condition (radiator hose, heater hose).
  • Inspect disc brake pads and rotors for wear.
  • Check brake hoses for deterioration or leaks.
  • Inspect ball joint and steering linkage seals for grease leaks and damage.
  • Inspect suspension system for looseness and damage.
  • Inspect drive shaft boots for grease leaks and damage.
  • Change rear axle oil (differential part and torque transfer part).
  • Change rear axle oil, with Limited Slip Diff.
  • Rotate tires.
  • Replace air purifier filter.

just to add back in there.....looked into some of the emails i had when i was looking at getting the service and at what dealer. According to the "mitsubishi canada technical guide" it states that the ralliart with a sst transmission is only to have its oil changed at 60months or 96k.
Of course if racing the above does not apply, however just because we live in Canada dealing with the colder temperatures ( despite our book in our dashes) if we just DD with car we can hold off till 96k. This was the same response from a couple dealers that I had contacted. Even emailed one to have it in writing from their GM in case anything ever happened. Just and FYI
I read all the posts and seen the pictures of filters at 40k however mitsubishi must think that it's ok if they are stating 96k. This theory would have been tested relentlessly ???

Good luck, can't say we didn't warn you when at 60k the tranny starts to perform like crap. Just ask Mike (08lancer89), he waited until 60K (and that was in nice sunny Florida) and his tranny was driving like ****. Image how bad 96K would be in up in the sub-artic.

Bump to hit this thread up, I'm doing 60k maintenance on my RA and I have had the SST fluid and Dif fluids changed once already at around the 50k mark.

I'm going to do the fluids plus the following:
Replace drive belts (for the generator, water pump, power steering pump).

Has anyone else done this yet? I wish there was a part list for this maintenance schedules so I can just get those things ordered and then worry about labor.

stay away from the d-stealers as they are overpriced ripoffs!! find a good independent garage or better DIY, keep receipts and document if under warranty yet!
