The surge with the smaller turbochargers will become distinctly more pronounced with an upgraded BPV. I will likely be selling the stocker from my X when the TiAL goes back on the car. Food for thought.
is the DV a complete substitute for the bov? whats the difference between the DV and the actual synchronic bov?

edit: i heard somewhere you need a tune with this bov... is that true?

Blow-Off Valve (as you are using the term) and Diverter Valve (what I am using to describe the part) are one and the same (if we are on the same page). You are looking at a re-circulating "BOV". That is what the Synchronic is. It works in such a way that you PROBABLY wouldn't need an adjustment in your tune.

What I would do, in your situation, is to buy an Evolution X metal unit. You will likely be able to sell it for what you will pay for it when the time comes.

So, you have $450 to spend on your car. You have a couple of options.

1). You can buy Swift springs (best springs out there, as best as I can figure, that will work with your stock suspension). The prototypes that I have will eat your stock pieces, so that is out of the question.

2). You could scour the F/S Threads section in search of a new IC, UICP, LICP, Intake, exhaust components, etc. (This is what I would do/am doing.)

3). You could save up more money and go for the complete Evolution X turbocharger swap. This is not a bad plan.

4). You could buy new brake pads. I like this idea.

What're the prototypes? I thought you were working with Koni for struts?

Yeah, but the springs are done. Koni is the next step. I am working out how to pay for R&D.

Until you go through with the X-swap, and a battery relocation...

He already said that that isn't in the cards, just quite yet.

Except for where he says:

I was just saying that if it really IS "number one" on his to-do list, like he said, then he'll be saving up money for the X swap anyway. If he'd like to buy an intake that'll last him longer than the couple of months it'll take him to get the parts together for the swap, he'd be best just picking up an X compatible intake and excercising a bit more patience (believe me, I know that can be a very hard thing to do). That'll mean no wasting money on a temporary intake for the RA platform, thus resulting in more money to get the swap done sooner, and a more complete/efficient swap with a proper intake as well.

yes if a ralliart intake will not work, then i will hold off on an intake. so that is out. i did say it was number one, but as im saving up for that i also want to get a few other parts that will be better for the car now and after the swap. so, bov, hfc, springs, and the rexpeed duckbill lip spoiler seem to be the top contenders. any suggestions on which i should go with first or what else i can get?

Yeah, I'm just havin' some fun.

Chaz, the HFC will be your best bang-for-buck option for performance, and the springs will change the whole attitude of the car when it comes to looks. I'd look into those first if I were you.
