Tansmission noise?

Everytime I slow down and my car shifts from 2nd to 1st I can hear this clunking noise? Not sure what it is. Should I be worried?

I have this too...my SST does it most of the time. Sounds a little louder than if you had a manual tranny and shifted from 2nd to 1st. I was told it's normal but i'm sure a fluid change would smooth it out a little.

Are you sure you're not hearing your differentials locking and unlocking? These cars seem to make a lot of different weird noises, most of which are pretty normal.

It's defiently the tranny making the noise. There's this other things that's been happening occasionally where I reverse out of a spot and when I put it into drive and hit the gas the car revs up a bit like it's in neutral and takes a second to catch the gear.

Well that sounds like some slippage. How many miles are on the car?

Hmm, the car shouldn't need new fluid at only 22K miles. But then again, I guess it depends on your climate and how hard you're driving the car. A fluid change certainly wouldn't hurt anything though. Just be prepared to drop a few hundred dollars, lol.

Oh dam a fluid change cost that much? I don't drive the car that hard and i bought it with 19k on it so I dn who drove it before but I do live in New England and the weather is constantly changing. Luckily it's still under warranty for another year.

Well if there aren't any mods on it and its still under warranty you could always just bring it to the dealer and ask their opinion on it. Free work is free work.

After talking on the phone the dealers service guy doesn't think it needs a fluid change tho I'm convinced that's what it is. Either way it's getting looked at next week and the warranty covers it all.

It's always good to catch something minor, before it becomes major. Hopefully its nothing, but better safe than sorry.
