9" wheels with 265s on A Ralliart

I was playing around with some wheels at lunch today and bolted on some Enkei RC5s 18x9 47 offset with Conti 265/35 18s. They are very close to the rear trailing arm but the fronts allow full turns lock to lock without hitting anything. There would be some fender rolling required for sure.

Once I get some springs, I may roll these this summer or get something with a similar size and offset. Here are a few crappy iPhone pics.

taking it to the limits lol nice

well i guess that confirms that 18x9.5 +38 wont have inner clearance issues

Arent those the Scooby rims that you guys have had for sale as used parts on your website Eric? I thought those might look good on the RA.

Yes these are the Scooby rims that are on the website. We got W rated Continentals and used them on the Drag Evo at the Texas mile. These bad boys have done almost 230 mph.

Pro-kits or Sportlines. Haven't decided if the extra drop is worth the trade off in ride quality and alignment issues.

18x9.5 +38 would have some serious roller skate action. You would have to pull the HELL out of your fenders!

Can you explain that statement a bit more? I understand the lower drop will increase camber issues. What is the ride quality difference between the two? I wasnt aware the Sportlines had been released yet.

Generally speaking, the lower you go with a stock strut, the easier the strut rod will bottom out in the strut body. And since our roads here have lots of potholes, it tends to be a nasty ride.

Bump steer also tends to get worse the lower you go.

Eric do you know of any company that might make an over fender or something for the X that might be altered to fit our cars so we can run wider tires without having to roll the fenders. It would be really cool if we could get some over fenders.

really? im running 18x9 +38 atm with fenders rolled and it looks like it's still got a bit of room to play especially in the rear due to the negative camber.. 18x9.5 +38 compared to my current setup will sit out 7mm further and 7mm less inner clearance. i was worried about the inner clearance but it seems that you are running rims with specs that has 3mm less inner clearance than the 18x9.5 +38 which you said is very close to the rear trailing arm, so i guess it will be 3mm further from those arms?

my other option is running 245/40's and getting a rear camber kit and fixing the camber for more flush fitment

Anyways post more pics when the news springs are on

1st off nice rack!!! i look just like my set up.... with rocky mounts haha

wheels are hot i was on a set of 18x9 45 offset and it was pretty hot wrapped in 255s

and on eibach pro kit.... which dropped a total of 1.5" after it settled...

now for the rolling part.... a flat roll and slit pull will keep it for biting... but the rear fenders paint tended to crack very easy... even when heated well and slow roll.....

i about to stuff a 18x9.5 +30 with some 245 soon.... i feel like i need to pull some more.... and it looks like the natural neg camber from the drop will tuck it just right too

but keep us posted!!!!
