Anyone with warped rotors?

Just wondering if anyone had any problems with OEM rotors warping. First time, there were replaced under warranty at 20,000km. Now I am at 40,000km, and I am getting light pulsation under braking on hwy speeds and it seems that it is causing light vibration. Does anyone else have the same problem? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

i've heard of the pads crumbling badly which caused a simmilar feeling, but havent seen OEM un-turned rotors do this.

I had it checked for vibration last week, tech told me that pads were wearing out evenly. I am taking it in again this Thursday, I will see what they say.

No signs of rotors warping. But I know with only 6500 miles on my car the pads shed dust like a dog sheds hair!

its more your front rotors you have to worry about, if your an agressive driver and or you ride the brake, warping is pretty easy to do.

Spend a bit of money and upgrade to slotted or if you fancy it a cross drilled rotor and just get a proper semi metallic pad to match.

Rotors warp primarily due to rapid cooling. It can happen to any car. If you are an aggressive driver, like me, and welcome to a long line of warping.

No problems yet, just hit 10K miles. I had Mitsu dealer check the car over when I took it in for the recalls not too long ago.

Frozen Rotors offers a rotor that has been cryo frozen for 60 hours. They are supposed to hold up longer and resist warping better. They also have fair prices for their rotors and offer slotted and/or drilled and slotted rotors.

Thanks for feedback guys. To tell you the truth, my driving habits have been the same, get on the hwy in the morning get to work, skip rush hour and get home again hwy. Barely get stuck in traffic. It seems to me this car is just a little too heavy and amount of hp is overpowering the brakes. In my 2002 civic SI, I only had to machine rotors once and I replaced them at 190,000km, and that car saw a little bit of abuse now and then.

Any idea on where I can find a retailer for Frozen Rotors? Or may be a good online store?

Thanks again guys for your feedback.

The only place I know of is their official website, you can check them out here:

http://www.frozenrotors.com/

They offer 3 different options at different prices. The OEM spec rotors are pretty close to the cost of OEM rotors.

Some good information from their site:

The cost-saving solution for better braking performance

Frozen Rotors® from Diversified Cryogenics deliver increased performance and a higher level of safety while significantly reducing braking system costs. Our proprietary, 60-hour cryogenic process permanently and dramatically improves the usage life and stability of brake rotors to create a distinct advantage in tensile strength, abrasive wear resistance and rotor longevity.

Increase Performance

Frozen Rotors® resist cracking, warping and fading. By using the cryogenic process to inhibit internal oxidation and increase thermal fatigue resistance, Frozen Rotors® can last up to three times as long as untreated rotors.

Increase Safety

Frozen Rotors® provide more predictable, consistent braking–even under extreme circumstances. They are the ideal choice for high-usage and high-performance vehicles that demand reliability and safety.

Reduce Costs

By extending the life of your braking system with the exceptional durability of Frozen Rotors®, you can save thousands of dollars in brake rotor and pad replacement costs.
I plan on buying a set when I get back from vacation!

Most cases of "warped rotors" are uneven pad deposits on the rotors. This could be your problem. It's actually very hard to warp a rotor.
