Yes, the stock Advans were terrible. I put 3K on mine before they had to come off. I bought my RA used though, so they were "chuckable" when they came off, even with 50% life left in them.
I also went with DWS (225/45/18) - They do leave something to be desired in dry summer cornering, but whats great is that I get to drive the RA virtually the same no matter what the whether is like.

I hadn't realized the A10s were summer wheels so I attempted to use them last year in the winter. I needed about 100+ feet to stop anytime there was snow on the ground, I could barely get going. Definitly not a good choice for the winter months

So this past weekend I had my Conti DWS's installed on my stock rims, 225/45/R18. They're already a dream and I really like them, but I couldn't bring myself to have them dispose of my old stock summer tires. They're garbage compared to these, especially when winter hits...but I still feel like I should sell them at least, instead of just throw them in furnace somewhere with barely 10k miles.
What did you all do when you got new tires? They're in my backseat smelling up the cabin with nasty rubber smells. I'd probably let them all go for 100$ or donate them for a tax write off...
Ideas?

Really? I drove in a blizard and I did fine. I went sideways a couple of times off the line but other then that I was good the whole way to and back from work. How much snow did you have? I had a good two or three on the road.

Well I live in a really hilly area but even 2-3" was annoying which sucked because I love driving in snow. I got around fine once I was moving but starting and stopping was always interesting.

If i had new rims, i pretty much have to keep the stock rims if i ever want to trade it (which i will). my gf would get pissy if i had 4 big 'ol rims laying around with nowhere to put them.
also, seems like Rotor Glow has no good rim choices. if you put black ones on it they just disappear into your wheel well when you look at 'em. gold ones look tacky, not good like blue. gunmetal just looks like brake dust is all over them...let me know if you know of good rotor glow matching rims. otherwise i'm stickin with stockers lol.

I got to 30000 miles and all four tires are bald with the two showing wire on the innermost portion. I already bought a set of Nitto Invo tires 225/40-18 but I have not had time to put on and get alignment. Hopefully they will be a lot better.
