Powder-coat rims
I was just wondering if it's bad to powder-coat rims a 2nd time.
I bought a used set of evo x stockers and they were powder-coated already.
Just questioning if it's safe to re-powder coat them again.

$100-$150 would be damn cheap. That is $25 per wheel. 18" wheels have a lot of surface area and ones with powder already on them require quite a bit or time to remove the powder and properly clean them. I think the cheapest I have seen for 18" wheels is $40/wheel.

Depending on the quality of the coat - it might be really pricey
I've seen some real quality powdercoat jobs where they took a hammer to it and not crack the coating. I cant see any sandblasting will penetrate.
You would need to have a chemical bath which is usually more $$$$

Toronto Prices on PC is roughly $400-500 for a set of 18x8's
Sandblasting is another $100, chemical baths are $50-75/rim
but there are the budget coaters - for about $250-$300 out the door depending on the color
