2011 RA tire question
I am about to purchase my first Mitsubishi, and I have a couple of questions.
The stock tires are 215/45/18, and I wanted a wider tire. Can I put on a 225/45/18 on the stock rim? I do not want to roll the fenders, and do not plan on lowering the vehicle. (the vehicle is stock).
I see people recommend 225/40/18. Why is this better then the 225/45/18?
I also plan to purchase new rims in the future. I was thinking of getting the OZ Ultraleggera rims. (18x8, 48 offeset, 5-114 bolt pattern.)
Would there be a problem using these rims with the 225/45/18 wheels?
Please help me with these newb questions.
Thanks

Staying with stock height and stock rims, you can definitely put on 225/45/18 or 225/40/18.
I suggest going with 225/45/18, and heres why:
You will feel bumps on the road more, 45 series is more comfortable.
40 Series will increase your wheel/fender gap, 45 series will fill it giving your car a cleaner look.
45 Series will fit just fine on your future OZ Ultraleggera 18x8 wheels,
even better than the 40 series because you have more sidewall to slightly stretch, if the tires even have to be, which I doubt they would be stretched at all.
How do I know this?
I'm running 225/40/18 tires, I am also lowered on Eibach Sportlines, no rubbing, and I still have a decent wheel gap (which I don't like), which I intend to fix when I get new tires,
which will be 225/45/18s, unless I get wider wheels

Thanks for the help everyone. I am now looking at the Swift springs. Will the 225/45/18s 18x8 still fit without rolling? Sorry for all the questions, I am new to this. Thanks again
