I've on my fourth set of tires and all have been very different. Stock Yokohamas lasted 14k, horrible tires. Next I got the hankook rs-2 which was being discontinued at the time and I got them for $71 each! Incredible tire but lasted very little. Next were the re760 and those were comfortable but not very good grip. I guess I was kind of biased coming from the rs2 but still. It was more of a comfort tire than a performance tire. Now I'm on the hankook v12 evos and I love them. Very predictable, almost never chirp or make any noise. I haven't been on them too long but theyve been holding up well. I would definitely recommend the v12 evos. Also very good in the rain. I live in south florida and I can't remember ever hydroplaning on these.

+1 on the Hankook V12 Evo's. Great tires, I put them on my RA when the stock A10's died at 12,000 miles.

Also look into Michelin Super sports. My father has them on his 2008 Cayman S and those tires are super sticky.

Its based on two things, personal preference and performance goals. I have Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position RE760 Sport's and they are way better then my All Season Dunlop SP 5000 stockers. It feels like im GLUED to the road. I also went up from a 215/45/R18 to a 235/40/R18. BIG DIFFERENCE! Well worth the fender mod to accommodate the RIM and TIRE. I'm running Enkei NT03+M 18x8.5 and lowered on Eibach Pro Kit.
