Thumbs up Stock Ralliart – TTP Dyno Tuned

Well with all the talk on this board about getting tuned I could not wait any longer so with TTP being a short drive to Orlando I gave TTP a call and scheduled a custom dyno tune. Firstly I have to thank them for working with my schedule and opening the shop a couple of hours early at 9:00 so that I could get tuned and back to work.

Car is stock except for K&N filter in stock air-box. Car has about 2500miles. Firstly the typical dyno numbers that everyone looks at: Max HP 259 Max Torque 264 with a peak to peak gain of 38hp.

These numbers alone however do not reflect how much the tune changes the car. If you look at the whole area under the graph you begin to get an idea. With gains of at least 18 hp above 3000 rpm to gains of almost 60hp at red-line the car is transformed. This is probably the way the engineers originally had the car until some lawyer or bean counter made them change it. The car finally has the pull it should above 5000 rpm and no longer just goes flat. It pulls cleanly from 3k all the way to red-line at 6.5K. You can feel the changes not only at WOT but also at part throttle. The torque gains are nice as well.. passing maneuvers at highway speeds no longer need a downshift to 5th.

Scott’s effort to tune not only for peak gains but for drivability can clearly be felt. While getting tuned not only did Scott spend a good hour working on peak gains he then spent another hour dynoing the car through all the gears logging not only WOT but part throttle shifts to ensure correct AFRs and that the car was knock free.

Scott also ran a simulated ¼ mile on the dyno. I am sure there will be many posts questioning the accuracy of the results which I have myself. Anyway per my research Mustang claims an accuracy within 1% with their calculations supposedly even taking into account wind resistance. Until I can actually get to a drag stip to validate the results I would be interested to hear from anyone that has done a simulated ¼ on a Mustang Dyno and then taken their car to an actual drag strip.

Anyway as you can tell I am a very satisfied customer. Thanks again TTP

Hopefully this is enough so that I can resist any further urges to mod the car.

13.3 1/4 mile should be attainable with a perfect launch and the amount of power you now have; Stock GSR's are doing 13.3

with a perfect launch yes,
but if you look at his "60ft" its a 2.2
and that is not perfect

i ran a 13.5 with a 60ft of 1.9

so in actuality accoridng to thier dyno with a 1.8-1.9 60ft he should be in the 12's.
which is hard to believe.

You're right about not just looking at peak numbers...even in the daily driver range, you're seeing +20 ft*lbs at 2500rpm and like +40 ft*lbs at about 3500rpm.

That's fantastic at such a low rpm and the top end is like night and day!

+1

221 whp with just a drop in is impressive. This is a good review though. Congrats, and thanks for sharing!
