Finally got around to testing out works 5! seeing as i had no problems with works 1, my input isnt super important, but it has been awesome. Feels super responsive on the throttle, tight shifts. I tried replicating the problem with the sound shifting into 6th in low gear to no avail! No problems on my end. Shifts feel super fast. Tested out manual sport and normal, as well as auto on both.

i do have one complaint, i got lost while paying attention to my revs n shifts n all. But stumbled upon a fantastic half mile stretch of road that is a dead end so nobody goes down it except those stupid idiots that get lost during the night =P. will be nice for testing out new tunes and mods =).

I blame you rich! for that horrible find! haha. I will keep Works 5 on and try to find problems!

I haven't had a single weird thing happen with Works #5. Moderate-throttle upshifts are really well-defined, with no slippy-2nd-gear feeling. It even makes NORMAL AUTO mode almost pleasant to be in. Almost.


If Works #5 behaves half as well in 2011 Ralliarts as it does in my 2009, it'll be a great excuse for a new base map revision!

Loving this car even more now.

Lols, how do you set the options to abandoned airfields only? In my area deserted roads are one in a vigintillion, would love to find an airfield though!

Everytime i upgrade to a new basemap i feel like its a stronger beast!

i only had an hour and a half to test it out as well get some errands done, and was trying to replicate the same problems so i didnt get to get the feel of all the great features. like i said i was switching between auto/manual and normal/sport so i havent gotten to have too much fun with it yet.

Did get in one launch and launched from about 2600rpm, didnt have a split second delay before throttle caught up with revs like it did since i last launched on stock rom. Also felt smoother too!

I cant believe you and bryan keep finding things to improve! But then im surprised everytime!

 

On this map, I did a standing-start WOT in NORMAL/AUTO... which I've never, ever done before. It wasn't too shabby at all.

I then tried the same thing in SPORT/AUTO, and it absolutely tore off. Felt like the fastest take-off my RA has ever achieved.

I feel you 100%, everytime you and bryan come out with a new map i feel like its the fastest launch! lol course ive only had the car about 2 months now.

do you have any mods rich? ive never seen a build thread from you or you mentioning any at all.

So i loaded up works 5 yesterday car was shifting perfect through all gears. Didnt have a chance to get on the throttle because of the weather though. I drove in manuel normal/sport. I am gonna take it out today and do a couple of WOT pulls and see how it does through 3rd, also gonna try launching. Great job Rich your work is much appreciated!

 

W5 is perfect from what I can see. No shifting issues. No vibration. It halls when you launch at 2.5k. Smooth shifts all the way through. Auto normal/ sport is very clean. Manual sport is where the fun is at! Your amazing rich

 

Hey stevendjen, are launching using tap method to 2.5k?

 

I am. I cant get it up to 3k and hold it there i can get there then stomp the gas but thats it. I tap the gas until i get the rpms to in between 2.5k to 3k then go. I dont break boost, i dont wanna get the your stupid message.

Did you experience the clutch slip or gear blending in 1>2 or 2>3 previously? If so, are you saying this works #5 has fixed it?

 

W5 seems to have all the issues fixed. I did notice the blend or hang in the gears in all of the other work flashes. It does seem to be the cure all at this point in time. Cold tranny does give slight jerks but it even did that with the stock ROM. So thats not a issue to me, when its warm... youll have fun.
If you flash to it youll be happy! i do say to try and do a launch at least once.
