2009 Lancer Ralliart - GST Basemap
#3511
I should add...
This Base Map tune is intended for use on Ralliarts with stock SSTs... not those with 600hp aftermarket clutch packs, or those with the Evolution X software upgrade, etc. etc. If you do flash the Evo X style software onto your SST, set aside some time to retune the ECU-side SST tables. That's a whole can of worms right there, lol.

Base Maps are built on a particular ROM version.
Sometimes, Mitsubishi bring out a later ROM version with fixes in it, like the example you quoted.
If the dealer applies an ECU update, it'll bring your ROM version forward. If the Base Map is built on the older ROM (which it may well be), then as soon as you go back to the base map... you'll promptly overwrite the fix.
To "incorporate" the fix into the base map, I'd need to take the later ROM and port the Base Map across to it. That will be quite a big job... depending on the changes from ROM to ROM. Code patches will need revising, tables might need discovering, and then all Base Map tables will need copying over. There are quite a few tune variants, as you know. Logging addresses can change too - it depends how much has been moved around internally.
I'm happy doing that work if there's a serious advantage to be gained.
Bear in mind you won't get just that fix. You'll get whatever else Mitsu decided to put in there too. One thing people might not like to get is the "Toyota Idiot Driver Throttle Kill" mechanism that Mitsubishi have been building into their Evo X (and probably RA) ROMs lately. If you apply brake and throttle at the same time, it jumps in and closes the throttle. Personally, I'd hate that - half my fuel map was set by holding revs back via brake pedal at different boost levels, and getting stable wideband readings. So it's a two-edged sword.
But I'm happy to put in the hours if it'll help keep the Base Maps at the top of their game.

Rich, I'm going to be sending you an E-mail on getting my car optimized on the SST side now that I'm on the S-Sport.....
I haven't been in this thread for a while now and need to get some kinks worked out..... If you refer back to my last email you can see what version and settings I'm on. (SST Tuned)

Does the new v30.007 work with boost pill? TBE? intake? or what?
I've been out of the loop lately but I just got a new laptop and I've been running the 2.7 with boost pill for 93 oct (USDM) for almost 2 years now and it's been great. I've since added a 3"DP and resonated "Test-pipe". I looked through a few pages but I couldn't find if there was a specification for this latest update. Like in the original it had multiple versions, octane, with or w/o boost pill, TBE, etc...
Can someone please shed some light on this for me? I'm ready to reflash this weekend!
Thanks!

the day finally came today where i could flash my 09 RA,
with many thanks to Rich for ALL of his help with questions and everything, without his help i wouldve been pretty lost.
without people like him forums and car clubs alike would not be progressive.
once again,
thank you
