On the USDM 2012 RA Boost Pill map and I'm sure others, the Rev Limiter is set to 7396 RPM. I guess my biggest question is here is:

Does this turbo breathe all the way to almost 7400 RPM and is there power to be made that far up with the stock cams? I've never really let the car rev that high cept for a couple instances where I wasn't paying attention. The couple times it did rev that high, it didn't feel like the car was making power. I've looked at the initial dyno runs on the first page and noticed that they only really run to like 6500ish and the power appears to drop off there.

Please help me understand this....
There isn't power to be made above 6-6500rpm with the stock RA turbo, but having the limit raised helps with upshifts to a higher gear at WOT I believe.

If you are like me then having the limiter at 6500rpm kinda sux. I was always hitting the limiter on the stock tune. Having that bit of extra room in each gear is a good thing for drivability IMO.

Take this around the block...

http://www.speed-wiz.com/calculation...alculation.htm

...and let us know what it spits out!

Rich

[edit]Actually, that one looks like a purchase-only app. Free ones...

But you get the idea... when you're talking redline shifts vs. short-shifts, you need to take the gearing into account.

Quick question Rich or expert tuners. What is that hump for? most other high octane maps are just a smooth slope, like the 2011 maps.

IF the 2009 and 2011 use the same engine, why would the maps be so different?

Which Patches are now included in these ROMS

Rich

Is there a post or a guide that details which Patches have been applied to these ROMs.

From my reading these ROMs include:
RAX Patch
Direct Boost
Atmospheric Baro Compensation

Not sure about these
SST Upshift Boost EC Management (SST Models Only)
IAT Adjusted BWGDC

Any other patches ?
Tephra Mods ?

I think this would be useful for people like myself who are considering tweaking our cars using these ROMs as a starting point.

Thanks in advance

All RAX Patch items are included in all Base Maps.

No tephraXMod in any Base Map. tephra declined to give permission to incorporate that work. His code, his call.

[edit]The "boost pill" Base Maps use Direct Boost patches. The "stock pill" maps don't.

Update on P050B.

TotalOwnage and I are now now no longer sure he was actually getting P050B. EvoScan 2.9 was serving up mangled codes. He's on 2.8 now, and is seeing a testpipe related code for his custom tune.

So, Newb, you're now Mr. P050B Test Guy. Will pm you.

The sickness continues...

I have received all of my parts and next weekend my 2009 Ralliart will get UR UICP, LICP, EVOX FMIC, UR Short down pipe and metal HFC, Wideband and then the TBE tune.

Of course once that is in place the question is what's next. I understand these are base tunes and since they coverage a wide range of vehicles they are very conservative.

How much more can I expect from a custom tune ?
Will I feel it in my butt dyno ?
Is it worth it for a daily driver that will never see the track or a drag strip.

For a custom tune I can go two routes ... Learn to do it myself or get an email tune.

Since Bryan has gone over to another side are there any reputable Ralliart email tuners that will work with these base maps as a starting point. I would not want to loose all of the driveability/SST tweaks that Rich has added that have truly transformed the car.

I don't actually consider the TBE tunes to be conservative... so you'll definitely notice it in the butt dyno - compared to the other Base Map tunes. Whether you'd feel a big difference again from a custom tune depends on the tuner. A good tuner also gives confidence that your tune is right for your particular car.

Having said that... given the amount of reference material online, I reckon you should be able to review your own fuel mixturees, timing,, knocksum etc. from your data logs. If you are able to fit that stuff into your brain and still remain sane...
