and this is what you need to do with the 3 XML i send you for your ralli
Copy the .XML files to OpenEcu ROM metadata folder (usually
C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo) .

i dont know why it has 3 xml for the 2011 maybe cuz of the ecm recall well just in case ask richard he should know

In that folder I have these files:
56940007 2011 USDM Lancer Ralliart SST
56940009 2011 USDM Lancer Ralliart SST
569400010 2011 USDM Lancer Ralliart SST

I have a question what exactly are these XML files for? I downloaded the 2011 Lancer Ralliart .hex file. Do I need to load these XML files along with the .hex files? Or do I just put them in the evo folder and load the .hex then flash...

I saved the current ROM on my ECU but it was unknown to ECUFlash, it saved as an .srf file.

the XML files you will need it in order to read and flash if you dont have the xml for your current rom you will see something like this in ecuflash little window pop up and said unknown rom image and when you see that just cancel and like i said saved the xml file C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo) and the hex file wich is your rom image just saved in your document but make sure you create a folder and rename like my 2011 stock rom thats the way i have on my notebook i have 2 folder on my document one it said my 2012 ralliart stock rom and the other folder said my 2012 GST BASEMAP but for more question you should ask richard or razorlab

Yes, that is exactly what happens. That's how I got my .srf file. So once I add these .xml files and read my ECU it *should* recognize the ROM, correct? After that do I just save then re-open and load the .hex file for 2011 basemap? Then flash?

Thanks a bunch.

I put the 3 XML files in the evo folder and I still get unknown rom image, did I need to rename them to something?.

Wait these XML files are for 2009 :/.. I need 2011

EDIT: Scratch that they are not for 2009, Internet Explorer gave them the name of the thread when I downloaded the attachments.

I'm still getting unknown ROM image pop up though. Any Ideas?
Are the 3 xml files for ROM ID: 56940014?

Ok, well I managed to save the .srf file (Everytime I open it in ECUFlash it says unknown ROM). Am I ok to just flash the 2011 basemap? I've read that the tables are very similar (I would imagine so since the recall just addressed torque limiter tables). I've also read through this thread that some it was suggested to just reflash the basemap after the recall was done.

Sorry for posting so many times in a row.
Thanks in advance.

Would you happen to have the XML for ROM 56940013? That was also for 2011 Lancer Ralliart. I think the 56940013 is highly based off that one.

No I did not. I've found an original 2011 stock ROM though before the recall. What I'm not sure about is what does the current ROM have to do with flashing the gst basemap.? Why does it matter which rom (recall or before recall) is currently on the ECU if I'm going to overwrite it. Can't I just proceed with flashing the gst basemap no matter what is currently on the ECU? Or does this basemap piggyback off the current rom and only modifies certain tables and the current ROM needs to be a known ROM (which will not work on the recall).

Only mod I have is the boost pill.

Ok, I've spent the last few days reading this forum going back several years lol. But, I seen this was an issue when new 2011 maps came out (such as 56940009, 56940010 and 56940013). XML files were created and contain different data in them but I read rich say any ROM can be flashed as long as the first 4 digits are the same. (i.e. 56940013 can flash 56940007).

I changed some values in the 56940007 XML and can read my .srf ROM dump tables now but it seems it is better to change the values for 56940013 to read 56940014 since I also read by a member in this thread (maybe 2 years back) saying these two ROMs are nearly identical except for the torque limiter tables.

I do not plan on flashing back any time soon (as I am out of warranty). Do I even need to worry about all this stuff? Can I just flash the 2011 gst basemap? From my understanding all this is just in case I want to flash back to stock. I just want to make sure the recall stuff didn't screw up the ability of flashing this gst basemap (Although I have not seen anywhere in these forums, nor google, that indicate there will be any issues).

Thank you in advance.
