also just assume that the intake is tuned and it works like the factory air box

it doesnt work like the factory air box, and the injen intake isnt "tuned" there is no electronic controller holding a map that it follows.

It is however tricking the maf sensor into thinking it is bringing in less air then it is. The gst map may be to lean with it. THE BEST WAY TO FIND OUT IS TO LOG THE AIR FUEL ON THE CAR AT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE TO REDLINE 4-5 times

Yep, most likely you're running too lean, because BOTH the GST Basemap AND the Injen intake are leaning out your A/F ratio.

What sign might that be? A rod through your block?

Like Bryan said you aren't going to have any signs until it's too late. If I were you I would either log your AFR with a wideband or take the intake off until you get tuned.

Yes it does, mainly from 5000 RPM up.

2. thats his car, with his setup, at his climate, on that day. Not yours, please please please don't use this as a benchmark to you having no issue.

You need to log it, or get a richer tune from bryan to be safe. Its really simple

Ok are you saying that the tune Bryan is not right for our car since it is with someone else's car and it is in a different weather.

Since you guy saying it will lean out my car i am deciding to just go with a cai without the gst basemap and boost pill. Since the car is rich with the factory tune and a little lean with the cai then it will be just right.

Suit yourself Lancera, but the GST basemap with boost pill upgrade has been dyno proven to increase peak horsepower by over 30 wheel horsepower. That Injen cold air intake of yours will only increase peak horsepower by less than 10. So, you do the math. Would you rather have a 30 horsepower increase or a 8-10 horsepower increase??? If I were you, I'd go with the GST basemap and boost pill, and put aside the Injen cold air intake until you decide to take your car in for a custom dyno-tune.
