2009 Lancer Ralliart - GST Basemap

Hi Rich, it would be nice if you could start a thread sharing your experience and your methodology. Even tho your starting other people could follow your footsteps and then bring their own experience to this thread.
I've been wanting to small changes to the basemap but never had the guts to do it.
And congrats on the (approximate) 10% gains... It's impressive.

As for methodology, I might start a "ramblings" thread... but the best info is simply threads like...
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...-tune-evo.html
and that "Merlins EcuFlash EVO 7-8-9 TUNING GUIDE" doc (worth hunting down). That particular doc is perfect.

Hi Bryan.
I'm putting this up in case you're interested in reading some feedback from the other side of the world. I've been using your "AUDM 93 oct Stock Pill V2" base map for a few weeks now. The OP2.0 has been in full standalone logging mode, so I've been able to monitor knocksum across the full spectrum of driving conditions and situations.
Attached is an EcuFlash comparison between your base map timing table and the revised one now running in my bone-stock RA (on 98 RON fuel).
Only baby steps so far - no more than 1* timing pulled in any one cell, with every effort to keep the map as nice and smooth as your supplied base version.
I've ordered an LC-1 WB oxygen sensor, but it's still winging its way from the US... so as yet I'm sticking to reviewing/revising the High Octane timing map.
Also attached is a "Virtual Dyno" comparison, taken in gloriously unscientific conditions. It shows roughly 10% increase in torque and power. Nice boost curve, mate (yes, stock pill). I badly want to see AFR data on that graph too, but wishing won't make the LC-1 arrive any quicker. All in good time.
So... rest assured that people are out there using the base tunings you produce... and going through a sensible log/analyse/revise cycle (ie. using it as a starting base, as intended).
Cheers,
Rich

I love feedback and I love data. Thanks for sharing!. Where you also logging IAT and MAT?

Hey, the 10% gains aren't my doing!

Don't pay any attention to the absolute numeric figures themselves - it's all in midget kilowatts.
@Bryan,
No, at the time, I wasn't logging MAT or IAT. The next day, I added MAT to the mix on the OP2.0 standalone logger, as I too was interested. Boy, does it get hot in there after parking up the car!
The IAT address just reads zero byte value from the RA (so "-40 degress C" on-screen), so I guess the Evo-default mode23 address (808658) doesn't line up on the RA 53610010. Shame.

Switched to the GST V2 boostpill tune, with AMS pill installed. I'm still being cautious - lots of logging and no WOT - but all good so far. Three short test drives, zero knocksum, heaps of grunt.
The Ralliart now goes like greased weasel s***...!

Bryan mentioned previously that their provision of a boost pill was primarily a service item... and he wasn't going to lose sleep over people getting them elsewhere.
I'm really glad the GST online ordering process worked for you. If it had worked for me, I wouldn't have ended up paying through the nose for the boost pill via an Australian supplier. I was financially raped to the tune of almost a hundred bucks for something the size of a brass Tic-Tac.

Don't... you'll make me start crying all over again. It's just unmanly.
And AMS wanted so much to ship the brass Tic-Tac to Australia, it would have worked out the same!
Rage building... blood pressure... climbing.
Still, the end result with Bryan's tune applied is incredible. He's made my Christmas card list, that's for sure.
Rage subsiding... anger... fading.

im thankful i live in the states.. lol.... but man Bryan thanks for the map.. i havent been posting because ive been out driving alot more.. with the boost pill and map the RA is a whole new beast.. oh and how much boost PSI is it now.. my boost gauge goes to 20psi and it pegs every time..
Only issue so far is I need now brakes.. stopping the car from 130mph is rough with the crappy stock brakes..

I was frustrated with their web system as well. Mine went through only for me to be called on the phone and told it cost $10 more than the web site had posted. I was told this was due to the new shipping method they started using.
I can see ordering from somewhere else if I were in your shoes. I will say that the issue I had with GST was nothing compared to the hassle I had with a local tuner who charged me $300 for the pleasure of damaging my car on the dyno, saying he gave up on tuning my car, putting the stock tune back on (still had a boost pill in it), keeping my $300 and telling me to drive it home (over the course of 2 weeks where my car didn't work right at all).
Thank you Bryan for offering a quality tune.
