I just finished installing a FP Green in my RA. The car is tuned and runs awesome. Tranny does overheat occasionally though.

Something like that but they're a better shop.

How is the spool? Did you use the stock X manifold?

I think I'm gonna wait on the bigger turbo actually. I want this trans. solid when I upgrade to alot more HP, especially if the FP Green is overpowering. This year Im just going to get: Ultimate Racing intercooler and both hot and cold pipes, Forge BOV (actually just ordered it 2 minutes ago) and the ultimate racing intake (still not 100% decided on this or the HKS drop in).

The evo x turbo is already overpowering the tranny. All that low end torque isn't good for it either.

More power = more heat

so i guess the smart thing to do before getting a bigger turbo is to get sommething that will keep the sst cool

and is the only reason the evox turbo over powers our tranny is because of our tcu?? no1 has cracked it..this whole time i was thinking the tranny in the mr was just like ours so putting a evo turbo wouldnt effect nothing

I believe we do not know that yet because. 1. we haven't had a MR and RA transmission side by side taken apart. 2. Have not totally unlock the TCU of both.

Just treat the SST like you would a stock evo x clutch. It'll hold 350 fine, just won't take a lot of launches and a racing season. The big problem is when the SST clutches go... it doesn't cost 500+labor to change the clutch like a normal manual clutch. It can cost 5000+labor or upgrading to SSP clutch packs plus labor.

Which makes you want to think twice about modding heavily.

I think there was a guy from my city who got a quote of $12,500 to replace the transmission.

I just can't image paying that, I would park the car and rebuild the tranny myself.

Because I'm pushing 350hp/300trq. A transmission cooler like the ams or ssp one will do wonders. My car barely lasts 1 20 minute session with the stock cooler. I also need to link in to SSP's deep oil pan and a trans fluid change.
