I read somewhere that the RA does this when drove hard previously and not allowed enough time for the turbo to cool.

Happened to me quite often the first several thousand miles. Worst was when it wouldn't start at all. I think the engine was flooded and I only believe this theory since after reading the manual I followed the steps on how to start the engine after being flooded and it hesitantly fired back up. I have not had any other problems since. On a side note could it be the sensor from our key fob is not transmitting as fast as we can turn the ignition to start the car?

Yes, it has happened to me as well. If it does not fire the first time, mine gets flooded and takes a little bit for it to sputter to life. Big plume of black smoke out the rear. Most of the time it is because I let go of the starter too quick. Quite embarrassing in a full parking lot.

Gives Honda fanboys something to laugh at.

Makes me wonder how much fuel gets past the cold rings making the oil dirtier.

I've had the random start issues and even had mitsu look at it a few times. Completely went away once I had the COBB tune on my car. Interestingly, I took off the COBB tune the other day and like the 3rd start after it was off it took a few times to get it going. It's obviously a bug in the computer that mitsu can't or doesn't want to figure out.
