Interesting...So, no cat at all then, just a test pipe with mini muffler it sounds like huh? Since you're still making so much power with the stock catback, would you conclude that most of the restriction in the OEM exhaust lies in the stock downpipe and factory cat then? Right now I just have a Magnaflow rear-axle back exhaust on my car, so I'm trying to figure out which sections of the OEM exhaust cause the most restrictions and need to be replaced, and which parts are already free flowing and don't need to be swapped out.

Yup no cat but with mini muffler to keep the sound down. Car still sounds stock exhaust wise. True sleeper.

I would imagine the stock catback is a restriction at this level. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see the car jump closer to 400whp by replacing it.

I'm really enjoying the car being quiet though.

I'd imagine the midpipe part that goes under the rear diff and is pressed down to like 1" can't help.

I'm actually amazed the car makes the power it does with this section still in:

Yeah, I'm probably going to take a ride up to CBRD at some point here in the near future and have them make me a custom midpipe with 1 or 2 Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonators welded into them. That way I get rid of the restriction while still keeping it as quiet as before.

Finally installed the Thule rack.

Great fit with the OEM mounting points.

Also put some clear vinyl down at the contact points to reduce any possible wear to the paint.

how much for the rack, if you dont mind my asking; I'm in the market as well. One of the few grips I have for subie v mitsu, is they have roof racks as a basic feature (sport package) but they dont offer something like this w mitsu (at least my dealer didnt). you would think a sport back screams outdoor usage, necessitating a rack, but maybe its just me

Mitsubishi does offer a rack system for the car, it's cheaper to go Thule though.

Thule system was $400 before shipping.

btw, I found a flaw with the system. It doesn't actually fit my board with bindings like it should. I'm 5'10 and don't use a really wide stance but the bindings still don't fit between the racks.

In order to use the rack I had to slide the board back and put the back binding behind the rack. Then I can't open the hatch without the board hitting it.

I think mitsu put the mounting points too close together...

Oh well...
