CP-e Exhaust
#32
I just picked up a used CPE catback from a good friend. Now...I'm looking at just using the muffler and getting it custom put onto my OEM mid pipe. Yes my exhaust shop will cut and weld as needed. I'm wondering what it will sound like and will it be quieter then the catback setup?
BTW I only paid 80$ for it. So I'm not concerned about customizing it.

I have the cat back with a AMS HFC and mine is not raspy sounding at all. I love mine, very deep tone suprises a lot people with the sound. But a lady I work with just tells me my car sounds like a overgrown husqvarna haha

i have had the CP-E exhaust and test pipe with cat for almost 2 years now and have loved every second of it except for the CEL light that the test pipe throws on, so luckily i kept my stock cat for inspection purposes

I finally found the perfect exhaust for me.
I first started out with the UR cat back with a resonator. Great sound but way to much cabin resonance in the car. People in the back seat are deaf after a ride with this cat back. I ended up selling it to a local member and picked up a used CPE catback for 80$, yes folks 80$. Anyhow I got a pro exhaust shop to hack it up and make into a axle back exhaust.
I don't think I could go through the noise like to UR catback again! I enjoyed just the axle back attached to my OEM mid pipe. But after a while it just wasn't enough.
So back to the exhaust shop I went. I took my CPE mid pipe with just in case. I talked to them and had two options
1. Use the CPE mid pipe with a 2nd resonator, Much more expensive, chance it would still be to loud.
2. Simply cut out the OEM resonator and fill it with straight pipng . Much much cheaper
Anyhow I ended up choosing option 2 and I was very impressed I'm how much sound I get now with absolutely NO resonance in the car or droning.
My setup is OEM downpipe, OEM cat, OEM mid pipe (no resonator) and axle back CPE exhaust.
I'm very very pleased with the outcome!
