CP-e Exhaust

Just wondering if anyone here has the CP-e Catback Exhaust or Turboback Exhaust. If so, how do like it?

I checked out the vids of it on YouTube and it makes our car sound like a beast!

I know Elpoole has the TBE...his videos are the ones on youtube. TBE sounds absolutely beastly.

I think 03chi-town0Z has a CBE??? I saw a picture recently, I think.

Eventually I may be sporting a cp-e exhaust too....

complete beast. thats pretty much all that needs to be said. the youtube video where the camera is strapped to the back of the car is probably the closest to the actual sound of the exhaust, but still nowhere near as awesome as it sounds in person.

i personally have the cpe downpipe and catback sections, but went with the ams testpipe because of the straight piping design instead of the curved pipe that cpe offers. the ams makes up for the bend with angled flanges instead of bending the pipe, so it all still fits perfectly using the stock exhaust hangers

edit: please excuse the filth, it's been raining recently...

Yeah, that video is awesome! The sound of the CP-e exhaust sounds like it would put Mustangs, Vettes, Camaros, and Challengers to shame!

BTW, anyone know how much the CP-e CBE weighs?

i've had so many domestic muscle cars look at me funny, its hilarious. its a shame the video cant capture the true sound tho, in person it's even deeper and lower pitch, its just an awesome growl until you punch it, then it screams!!

anyone local curious to the sound, you're welcome to come check it out anytime, just lemme know. also, shameless plug, but i'll be at the meet 4/10 in orland park if anyone wants to check the car out.

I have the quickpower pipe and that made my exhaust sound a little bit deeper.

I think it was on hotshot1's RA that I heard it in person. It was loud and raspy...I don't recall if he was running a test pipe or not. If you want a sound that will turn heads, I think this is it. I'd prefer something a little more mellow for daily driving, though.

i can tell you that it is not a whole bunch lighter than stock, but there is a bit of difference. personally couldnt wait to put it in so i never made it to a scale. if you like i can weigh the stock pieces for reference tho, and then you can maybe ask cp-e how much their piece weighs? they are really nice and helpful both over the phone and through the website, thats what landed me as a customer for sure, customer service was awesome

The CP-E is the nasty of nasty. Always turns gearheads. *****es give you that just slapped in the azz look. Noticeable HP gains too. lemme find that graph.

Having the more open exhaust, you can really hear when the mivec starts opening up and as the exhaust gets a little carbon coating on the inside the tone gets deeper. Totally different car with the exhaust on. Boost comes quicker, snappier throttle.

i'm pretty sure this is the way to go...couple questions though. I think i'd do the exhaust, the quickpower pipe, but do you need the downpipe? as well, this will be the first mod on my car, will i need a tune right away, or can i wait til i add more stuff? Finally, will this exhaust throw a CEL?

thx

For at cat back alone you won't need a tune. But i beleive there is an O2 sensor on the downpipe and one on the cat so for those you might throw the CEL is you change them.

do you think that downpipe makes enough difference to warrant the price? or is the quickpipe enough?
cuz the idea is i'll get this exhaust, cruise around for a bit til i get enough cash for an UR FMIC, hardpipes, and intake, and then get it all tuned then. just want to make sure i won't hurt anything on the car running that exhaust without a tune.
